Factual error: If you take the train from Paris to Cannes you won't pass the Eiffel tower.
Factual error: Near the end of the movie, as the money train is approaching the passenger train, the motorman is communicating on the microphone with dispatch. If you notice, as he is talking, his hand is NOT on the throttle. On the trains in the NYC subway system if the throttle is not depressed the train will stop.
Factual error: You hear Richard unzip his pants when he sees the woman diving into the pool, but even before he goes to the window he is wearing boxers. Boxers are all buttoned, they don't have zippers.
Factual error: Roberta has a Meet The Brady Bunch record on her desk. The release date for this record was 1972, yet this film is set in the summer of 1970. (00:12:55)
Factual error: When it's 1969 we see a boy (I'm not sure which one so you'll have to look) riding a Shwinn Sting-Ray Krate Grey. That bike didn't come out until 1971 and they only made them that one year. (00:02:45)
Factual error: At the end, where TS and Brandi are getting married in Universal Studios, the caption mentions it is Universal Studios Florida, the actual scene is filmed on the backlot tour at Universal Studios Hollywood. (01:29:36)
Factual error: When the soldiers are asked to find out what gifts Andy is getting at his birthday party, the set out down stairs with half of a baby monitor. Well, any parent who owns one knows that there are 2 pieces to a baby monitor. One half (the larger half) is the receiving end (that takes in the noises) and a smaller half which is the transmitting part (the half that sends out the noises). The half that the soldiers take downstairs to talk through is the wrong half. They take the half that the noise comes OUT of. So, really, they should NOT be able to speak into this part - in real life, they'd hear what was happening up in Andy's room. (00:09:18)
Factual error: The equation written on the board does not come out to be "11", in fact, it's not really solvable because it doesn't have 2 sides, just a "?" on one side.
Factual error: When Gadji hears Ace imitating a gorilla, he says 'Silverback'. In the next scene he says to Mick 'Female'. A silverback is the dominant male in a gorilla group, named for his coloring. See http://www.wwfus.org/gorillas/species.cfm.
Factual error: When Lucy jumps off the platform to save Peter, and is trying to wake him, the oncoming train blows its whistle. However, the L-trains/subways in Chicago do not have whistles like ground locomotives do.
Factual error: When Sydney arrives at the Christmas Party, President Shepherd and A.J. MacInerney ask where she's been. She says she was stuck at Dupont Circle and they ask why she was on the Hill. But to get from Capitol Hill to the White House, one would not drive anywhere near Dupont Circle.
Factual error: Sam prepares twenty lbs. of meat for Carol but when he gives her the package, it is way too small to be twenty lbs of meat. Ten lbs at most.
Factual error: During the first few minutes of the film we see Major Payne report into the General. Major Payne then salutes, however, he does not have a cover on his head. As per USMC/Naval Customs and Courtesies, Marines only render the proper greeting of the day when reporting to a superior officer without a cover, they don't salute. (00:03:20)
Factual error: When the hovercraft is stopped after Jackie cuts the side open, it isn't slanted to one side(from the outside view), it is straight.
Suggested correction: It is slightly slanted... it's just hard to see with the camera angles, since it's mostly shot from the side once it crashes.
Factual error: There is a scene where the teenage girl says "She lets me drive her car and I don't even have my Learner's Permit yet." The setting is in New Hampshire. New Hampshire does not issue Learner's Permits. NH law is that the driver must be at least 15 1/2 years of age and accompanied by a licensed driver who is at least 25. You can then get a license at 16.
Factual error: There is absolutely no way that Internal Affairs would have any authority or power to shut down an entire police force because of stolen drugs. As in the plot of the film, that type of decision would be decided by the city council on a vote and approved by the mayor. In any case, an extensive investigation would take place and the culprits would be arrested and prosecuted. No police force would be disbanded because of this absolutely fictional scenario.
Factual error: George is paid an extra $15,000 to move out of the house in ten days and he his paid in $1,000 bills. Although $1,000 bills do exist, they are not used by private citizens. They are only used by large banks.
Factual error: When Kitt drops her mom off at the airport, that's not Chicago O'Hare. She is actually dropping her off at BWI airport so Claudia can fly...to Baltimore, Maryland.
Factual error: When Calvin is invited to sit at the table with King Arthur and his daughters, as he is sitting down you can see that King Arthur is wearing a t-shirt under his robe.
