Revealing mistake: During Kenjiro's fight with Phan Xu, Kenjiro cuts Xu's face. This cut goes across Xu's headband, but the headband is still in one piece. The cut is visible above and below the band, but the band itself is untouched. As Kenjiros sword is capable of cutting a steel chain, a piece of cloth should not pose any difficulty.
Revealing mistake: As Ripley and Dillon lure the Alien into the piston chamber, Morse closes them just in time. Watch closely - he misses the switch. (01:38:15)
Revealing mistake: In the chase scene about an hour into the movie, Robert Loggia is shown entering the Liberty Tunnel, driving on a wet road. Note the vaulted round ceiling of the tunnel. Next, we see a series of shots of him in the tunnel, and then a shot of the sun rising over Pittsburgh as he is about to leave the tunnel. Here is the problem - the sunrise shot is taken from the Fort Pitt tunnel on a different day. Note the dry road, the barriers to the driver's left at the tunnel exit and the Fort Pitt bridge straight ahead. There is no place for the driver to make a left turn out of this tunnel. Also note that the POV is from the left lane. All the Liberty Tunnel shots show Loggia in the right lane. The next shot shows Loggia exiting the Liberty Tunnel and making a left turn from the right lane, causing a pile-up. (01:11:10 - 01:12:20)
Revealing mistake: As the three zombies go rabid at the house party, and McGruder and Thug tear the skin off a guy's face, the switch from actor to dummy is visible. (01:10:55)
Revealing mistake: When Ernest runs away from Lisle, after he nearly drinks the live-forever potion, he runs down a hallway and commences to open a door with a doorknob on the left side of the door. It then cuts to the other side of the door, of Ernest walking through the door (into the party), and now the doorknob is also on the left side of the door, but it should be on the right side. (01:21:35)
Revealing mistake: At the beginning of the voyage, in the shot where the camera pans around the ships (just after the scene when the sail is being unfurled) we can see a jet airliner contrail mark on the sky.
Revealing mistake: In several driving scenes, the cars are visibly higher than the rest of traffic. Obviously a flatbed truck was used instead of a trailer for the filming of the interior shots.
Revealing mistake: In the scene where Tom Cruise is yelling at/questioning Dawson at the jail in the witness room, immediately after Cruise gets up in Dawson's face and says, "I'm the only friend you've got," Cruise is supposed to simply turn and walk away. But you can see from the angle behind Dawson that Cruise' first step is a step down, indicating that he was on a pedestal of some sort to bring their heights closer together.
Revealing mistake: When El Mariachi is trying to escape Moco's men by sliding down a wire onto the bus, he first throws the ball-and-chain-weapon over the wire. But then when he slides down, you can see a pulley device that he is using, not the chain. (00:26:45)
Revealing mistake: When Allie goes to vomit, the toilet moves like a prop. (01:18:00)
Suggested correction: Have you ever lived in a New York apartment? I've had toilets that weren't fastened to the bathroom floor at all and was still charged 900 dollars a month in rent. It's not outlandish to think the bowl might wobble a little if the superintendent has been lazy. That elevator in the basement is still broken, after all.
Revealing mistake: In the scene at the church, immediately after the girls were at the Suds Bucket, Mae is in the confessional when the priest drops his Bible. Mae steps out and kneels to pray as the priest opens the door to see who has just made their confessions. A closeup of the priest's face reveals that he has a "cowlick" (several locks of hair) hanging down in the middle of his forehead, but in the very next shot showing him in the background looking down at Mae, the lock of hair is suddenly gone.
Revealing mistake: When Lance Henrickson's character gets killed, there's a close-up of his flashlight lying in the snow with a rivulet of blood flowing past it. It's very obviously fake snow, since there are snowflakes floating on top of the blood.
Revealing mistake: When Nick returns to his apartment (after being made invisible) he immediately closes the curtains. Although he is invisible, we should see the curtains pulled closed at the point that he grabs them with his hands. Instead we see them close from the top, revealing they were closed either by a crewman or an automated process. Note: The curtains are NOT meant to be automatic in the film as we see and hear him physically close them.
Revealing mistake: When Shannon is playing the band music on the piano at the beginning, the movements of her hands don't match the notes heard.
Revealing mistake: In the scene when Roy returns to rescue Helen, he runs into Spike and then gets shot by him in the chest. When Spike checks Roy, he finds that the remote in his shirt pocket stopped the bullet. However, there isn't a hole in the shirt pocket.
Revealing mistake: The opening text describing how London is badly flooded because of heavy rains and global warming is accompanied by an aerial shot of the city. From the level of the Thames it is clear that this wasn't even filmed at high tide, let alone during a flood. (00:00:45)
Revealing mistake: When Ivy falls to her death you can see her blinking when the rain hits her eyes just before the film fades to black.
Revealing mistake: After Mike has come home from being beaten up during a game of football, there are no longer open wounds by his mouth and nose, and the dried "blood" looks more like Kool-Aid stains.
Revealing mistake: When the attorney Ms. Lawlor is being 'hijacked' by the ghost (we only hear his voice) Grubeck in her car, it is very obvious that a person in a black ski mask and black clothes is driving the car.
Revealing mistake: When Bob Roberts falls off his motorbike, if you watch closely after he falls he gets up and faces to his right before the camera pans away. When the camera pans back a few seconds later, he's lying down again. It's obvious that the stuntman and Tim Robbins switched during this time, each hiding behind the parked car. (00:49:40)
