Other mistake: How could Jane not be aware that Tom had only used one camera for the date rape interview, recording his fake tears later? That's the way things are done on television news shows and as an experienced, hard-bitten television producer she could not possibly be unaware of that. The reporter always records his or her reaction shots (called 'noddies') after the interviewee has left. Shooting with two cameras would involve two crews, two lighting rigs, a vision switcher and so on and so on and a straightforward interview simply would not justify such a complex and expensive set up.
Other mistake: Dan and Alex go to what looks to be Alex's apartment after meeting at the office and going for a drink. After romping around in bed, they go dancing, and on the way back through the meat-packing district, she leads him to the door of her apartment and tells him she lives upstairs and he says something like, "this is your building?" It seems odd as they were just up there having sex.
Other mistake: In the scene were Patrick breaks the car window, when he walks to his seat you can see a point of red light (like a laser) on his back. (00:40:45)
Other mistake: After the one bad guy crashes into the giant vat of toxic waste, hardly any of the liquid from the container spills out for the first two shots. Then a few cuts later, almost all of it pours from the back of the truck. Judging by the size of the hole it left, more liquid should have been coming out around the truck, not just through it. (01:29:00)
Other mistake: The documents to which the Imperial Seal was stamped at both the coronations in Peking (1908) and 'puppet' coronation in Manchuria (1934) carry the same dates. They also show the same 'coronation names' when it is known that Puyi was coronated as 'Xuantong' in Peking and 'Kangde' in Manchuria. This will only be apparent if one can read Chinese. (00:14:45 - 01:47:40)
Other mistake: When Joe (The American Ninja) pushes the girl out of the moving truck, one sees the stuntMAN (playing a girl) mis-time the fall and land on a large clump of rock and dirt, after which, before the scene cuts, we see the stuntman curl over in pain. Obviously a very painful fall for the stuntman and a very very funny scene for the viewers.
Other mistake: When Anne goes in for her second day of teaching and there's the illustration on the board, you see a view of the girls and an empty seat in front of Emiline. When the camera goes back, there is Jen Pringle sitting in it, and it happens again where Jen is sitting in the seat. A moment later, Jen walks into the classroom late and sits in the 'vacant' seat right in front of Emiline.
Other mistake: When Nitti (Billy Drago) kills Oscar in the elevator, not only is there not nearly enough time for him to write "Touchables" on the wall, but the writing looks like it was done with the aid of a ruler. If he had actually written it in the minute it took the elevator to reach the bottom floor, it would be smeared all over the place. (01:06:50)
Other mistake: When at sea and during the crew member foc'sle rescue, the ship's crew, including Kevin Costner, are wearing ship ball caps reflecting USS Billings (BB 1369) and the BB represents "Battleship." However they are actually on a Guided Missile Destroyer "DDG 21", the USS Cochrane, as indicated by the hull number 21. (00:15:00 - 00:17:00)
Other mistake: Near the end of the movie, in the mansion overlooking the water, James Woods is eliminating the bodyguards. As he shoots the one at the bathroom sink, blood sprays all over the mirror, but the bullet never breaks the glass.
Other mistake: It certainly adds very dramatic touch but that a police squad on motorbikes driving by a house makes the cups shake in the saucers is a bit over the top. (02:02:35)
Other mistake: When the sniper fires her rifle at Joker after his rifle jams, she fires at him and strangely no shell casings are ejected. A few bursts later and her rifle does eject shell casings.
Other mistake: Ritchie's 1950's Fender guitar amp looks like it would have looked in the 1980's when it should have only been a couple of years old in the movie.
Other mistake: Just before the first arm wrestling match against "Smasher, " Bull Hurley is seen in the doorway looking at Lincoln accept a match. A few seconds later Bull seems to appear into the doorway like he is showing himself for the first time.
Other mistake: When Ricky confronts the mother superior in the dining room, Ricky raises the axe above his head and brings it straight down in one single motion. Both Ricky and the mother superior are facing each other. At that angle, it would have been impossible for Ricky to decapitate her. At best her head would have been cleaved in half, but not decapitated.
Other mistake: When Neal checks his airline ticket it says he departs from N.Y.C. J.F.K. but the movie claims to have him flying out of LaGuardia.
Other mistake: When Eddie Sanger is saving Kathleen Riley from "Michael", he gets slashed in the chest, through his leather jacket and sweater. When they meet up the next day, he is wearing the same leather jacket. Although the front is not shown, it is the same type and colour and obviously same jacket. He doesn't seem to be the type who would wear a slashed and likely bloody leather jacket.
Suggested correction: He gets cut through the sweater only. The jacket was unzipped and does not get damaged, therefore the fact that he is wearing it a few days later is a reasonable decision.
Other mistake: When the man falls out of the high-rise window and lands on the car roof, it never shows him falling through a carport roof. But in subsequent scenes, it shows the car under a hotel-like entrance roof which obviously would have a roof based on the outer pillars. (00:49:00 - 00:51:00)
Other mistake: When Christopher is in the bathroom stupidly "dabbing" Cathy's back as she's taking a bath there is a glass block window behind them. The window makes no sense. It doesn't match the era or architecture of the bathroom or the home, first of all, but probably more importantly - what's behind it? Where is the light coming from? It's just this random, standing glass block window with an equally-random light source. (00:34:53 - 00:56:49)
