Continuity mistake: When the Terminator says "I'll be back" he walks out of the police station. The cop inside the building looks out of the window, looks very surprised, and you can see the headlights from the car shining on the cop's face. When we see the car just before it comes crashing through the building the headlights aren't on. In the next shot of the cop the headlights are still shining on him. (00:57:25)
Continuity mistake: When Eddie Murphy is getting the bananas from the waiter in the hotel, the bananas he gets are straight. When he places the bananas in the tailpipe of the detectives' car, they are curved.

After trying to nab the bad guys at the hotel, Tom Selleck goes home and puts his son to bed, then is called back in to work, and then the rest of the film is supposed to be the same evening, but it was already late night.
Continuity mistake: In Nancy's final showdown dream, she goes down to the cellar, then goes to open the door which leads to the boiler room. When she opens the door it's hinged on her right hand side, yet when the shot changes the door is now hinged on her left hand side. (01:13:25)

Continuity mistake: At the end of the film the hero follows the bad guy into a reservoir. When he gets there, the bad guy has dug a very deep hole in the ground in which he wants to bury the girl. When David reaches in to retrieve it, the robe is very disheveled, lying more lengthwise, and the lettering not so clear.
Continuity mistake: In the torture scene near the end of the movie Winston is lying on the rack. One of O'Brien's aides removes the shackles of Winston's right arm, but leaves the one on the left arm fixed. Continuity mistake: About 70 mins into the film, Michael Caine pulls into a petrol station. All in one shot: Michael Caine asks for the car to be filled up, the attendant puts the nozzle in the car and starts filling it (using the "hold-on" feature now disabled on most pumps), takes the £10 proffered, goes back towards the office, Michael Caine spots Robert Powel, gets in the car and starts the engine. The next shot shows Michael Caine driving away from the petrol station with nobody close enough to have disconnnected the fuel hose, but no apparent fuel hose, or spilt fuel, lying on the forecourt, and the attendant not too worried about a damaged fuel pump or spilt fuel. In the next scene as Michael Caine pulls off the road into a farmyard, the filler cap is visible on, with Robert Powel passing by seconds later; Not enough time, especially for a fugitive, to have stopped, got out of the car, hobbled round, put the cap back on, hobble back, got back in and continued his escape. (01:10:15)

In the next shot as they round a corner, the mutant is suddenly towards the back of the roof of the car, just holding on without attacking the windshield. In the next shot, the hole is gone also from the glass. (01:25:45)
