Question: When Dr. Cornbluth first sees the mermaid under water and unsuccessfully tries to take her picture, how come he has an oxygen tank AND an air hose coming from the boat topside? I thought it may be a mistake but I am not a scuba diver so I though I would ask.

William Bergquist

Chosen answer: Whilst it may be a tad unusual, each system serves as a back-up for the other.

Question: Why exactly did David Lynch have his name removed from the TV version?

Answer: Because it was edited in a way he didn't approve of. The film was actually over 3 hours long, and it was trimmed by about an hour for the cinema version, and then a certain amount of pick and mix went on to come up with the video version.

Answer: It's never explained, she could have changed at super speed. In Superman II, when confronted by the super criminals at the Fortress of Solitude, Superman did a disappearing and reappearing act. So did the criminals. It might be a similar thing.

Chosen answer: Much of Axel Foley's lines were improvised, including this scene, according to the commentary. But many other actors improvised their lines too, most notably Bronson Pinchot. The script was originally written with the intent of Sylvester Stallone playing Axel and as such, the issue of his race wasn't scripted and the director tried to avoid mentioning race in the film. It was Eddie Murphy that would bring it up in improvised lines.

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter picture

Question: As Jason's body is being brought into the hospital, the camera focuses on a room with a crying girl, and presumably her parents, her face is obscured so who is this suppose to be? Is it suppose to be Chris from the last movie?

Answer: The way I look at it there's more than one possibility: 1. The crying relatives are totally unrelated, so to speak, to the events of the film. B) they are relatives of one of the victims, be it Andy or Debbie or Shelly. The girl does not look like Chris from part 3.

Alan Keddie

Answer: I suspect that the girl was intended to be Chris, hence her face being very obviously obscured (as Dana Kimmel did not return for this movie). The lack of a resemblance may be an error, though, with her face being away from the camera, it's not very noticeable.

Answer: The original idea for this one was Jason causing havoc in a hospital and I think Chris was supposed to come back, so your guess is as good as mine.
