Corrected entry: The scene where Sonny is shot at the toll booth is supposed to take place in the late 1940's. However, as Sonny is driving up to the toll booth, he is listening to a baseball game on the radio that took place on October 3, 1951. In that game, Bobby Thompson hit a home run off Ralph Branca as the Giants beat the Dodgers and won the pennant. (01:52:25)
Corrected entry: The Collingwoods' mouths don't move, when we hear them speak after finding Mari's body.
Correction: Actually, they're not speaking. You're hearing their thoughts.
Corrected entry: When the two canoes first start off down the river, the guy in the lead canoe is wearing a hat. Virtually every time the shot changes, the hat either goes on or comes off, it happens about 5 times.
Correction: The shots are indicating time passage as they go down the river, as such, there would have been plenty of time to take the hat on or off between shots. It's just another indicator of the passage of time.
Corrected entry: During the alterations frenzy, Reverend Witherspoon states, "Nowhere do you mention the Supreme Being." and proposes the addition of the phrase "With a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence." While this clause actually is an addition to Jefferson's final draft, the reasoning, as shown in the film, is wrong.
Correction: This film is not intended to be a historical documentary. Although the film (based on the Broadway musical comedy) is based on real events and real people, some of the characters and events have been changed or left out for dramatic/comedic purposes. This is called artistic license.
Corrected entry: Before she dies, Shelley Winters asks Gene Hackman to give her husband a necklace with a charm of the symbol of life to pass on to her grandson, but Gene Hackman instead gives her husband a medallion and not the necklace that she gave him. (01:26:55 - 01:36:00)
Correction: The medallion and the "sign" for life are on the same necklace.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Olivier fires the miniature cannon at the dart board, you see someone walking passed the window going over to the front door and looking through the letterbox.
Correction: I have seen this movie many, many times and unless there is more than one version, I cannot recall any scene where a cannon is fired at the dartboard.
Corrected entry: Jeremiah finds Hatchet Jack frozen to a tree and begins to approach him. In every close-up shot of Hatchet Jack, you can see Jeremiah's rifle resting on the tree behind him. The rifle is then absent during shots from further away as Jeremiah approaches. Jeremiah does not place his rifle there until he reaches Hatchet Jack and begins reading his note. (00:10:55)
Correction: I just watched this over and over to confirm. The rifle does not appear leaning on the tree until after Jeremiah is standing in front of Hatchet Jack. The scene cuts away for a moment (if you want, leaving him time to lean his rifle against the tree) when the scene opens up again he is pulling the will from his frozen shirt.
Corrected entry: When Caesar was hooked up to the shock table he was receiving a mild current of electrical shock. After he spoke it was ordered that he be electrocuted. Simultaneously McDonald found the power source for the table and turned it off. The operator set the machine to electrocute Caesar. He then turned the dial all the way up. An electrocuted body would give off a burning smell. Since he was not electrocuted, he would not have given off a burnt smell. Wouldn't the operator notice that he didn't have a burnt smell and therefore had not been electrocuted?
Correction: Unlikely, since the man was one of the guards and not the regular operator of the device, and since the device was not normally used for electrocution, he would not be familiar with the burning smell.
Corrected entry: The premise of the story is that plant life has been rendered extinct on Earth, with the only remaining foliage being sustained in a few space-borne conservatories. Wood products would then be rarities. Yet, the user manuals for the spaceship's systems are all printed on paper.
Correction: We have no evidence it was paper. It could be a thin plastic or rice based. Alternativly it could be recycled from waste that could only suitabley be used for making manual-quality paper.
Corrected entry: Pepe wasn't expecting any guests, yet he has letters for Stuart on arrival.
Correction: Pepe tells the workers that he is expecting English people for happy holidays and later tells Kenneth Williams "certainly I am expecting, my wife is also expecting."
Corrected entry: On the back of the DVD case there's three pictures from the film, and one of them is of Woody Allen dressed up as a giant spider. But that scene is not even in the movie.
Correction: Looking at the back of a DVD case is not exactly rare or anything unique. In addition it is very common for promotional material for a film to use certain shots or scenes that are not in the final film.
Corrected entry: Jessica says that the grave is of "my great-grandfather", killed by Dracula in 1872. Later, Jessica's grandfather Van Helsing says that the same man was his grandfather. Therefore, of the grave Jessica should say "great-great grandfather". (00:25:10 - 00:51:25)
Correction: Character mistake.
Corrected entry: Sally's "cross your heart" dress changes, during the "Cabaret" song scene. It passes from being left over right, to right over left and apparently is a flipped shot.
Correction: Someone is taking the piss. This is the third "Cabaret" error to be lifted almost word-for-word from IMDB. "During the song "Cabaret", Sally's "cross your heart" halter dress changes from crossing left-over-right to right-over-left and back between shots (probably a flipped shot)."
Corrected entry: The external shots of "Finisham Maternity Hospital" were not that of a hospital at all - they were of Maidenhead Town Hall, in Berkshire. The only change the set desginer made was to put up the appropriate sign on the outside of the building.
Correction: The hospital is Heatherwood Hospital in ascot. This mistake refers to "Carry On Doctor".
Corrected entry: When Judy and Howard steal the wedding couple's car, Judy gets in the driver's seat. A few minutes later, Howard is shown driving just before they drive off the pier into the water.
Correction: You can see Judy and Howard start to trade places after Judy says it's her first time driving. You never actually see them change places, but they begin to change before the shot changes.
Correction: No, Sonny is shot in 1951. If you count backwards it is easy to see this: Vito Corleone dies in 1955 (according to what it says on his tombstone). In Vito's death scene, Anthony was about two-three years old, so he was born in 1952, meaning that Michael had returned home in 1951/early 1952, which happened almost directly after the shooting of Sonny.
