Factual error: As director Ronald Neame himself points out in his commentary to the DVD, immediately after Sandy has been heating a piece of bread in the fireplace, she grabs the end of the fork on which it is placed and does not burn herself. (00:19:00)

Continuity mistake: Frankenstein buys a sprig of freesias as a buttonhole: two yellow flowers and a purple. The sprig immediately changes into two purple flowers and a yellow. When Frankenstein meets Mrs Brandt and they go into the drawing room, the flowers are two purples and a red with yellow centre. Once in the cellar to see Mr Brandt, the red goes, and a yellow is back with two purples. (00:57:45 - 01:03:55)

Factual error: Lou Erding qualifies his car (42) in third, yet prior to engine startup, the famous "position pole" shows 42 as starting in 20th.

Revealing mistake: When Dustin Hoffman dies at the end of the film, if you look closely at his chest you can see him breathing.

Continuity mistake: In the restaurant kitchen scene, Carol Sanders takes hold of the waiter's left hand. In the next shot, she is holding his right hand.

Continuity mistake: At the end of the town collapse, a sincerely drunk Ben dives head-on into a tub where a lady (in her underclothes?) is just enjoying a bath. Propelled by Ben's momentum the tub with both passengers slides down the slippery planks and splashes into the river, while Ben rearranges himself into a comfortable sitting position between shots. If I wasn't completely mistaken also the lady changes her outfit, since the embroidery is missing when they float along. (02:23:35)

Other mistake: As Anne is about to be executed for adultery she begins recalling the important events of her life since meeting Henry VIII. She counts each of the wooden stakes numbered "100 Days" and recalls various events involving she and Henry. There should be 10 to account for the 1000 days but there are only nine. (02:13:00)

Continuity mistake: After crashing, the pilot jumps from his burning plane with the back of his jacket on fire. The flames are extinguished but after a short dialogue, the pilot is seen walking from the scene from behind with not even a scorch mark on his jacket.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where the grave robbers are loading Edward's coffin onto their cart, the coffin lid can be visibly seen bouncing up. Yet in the next scene where Christopher Lee is attempting to open Edward's coffin, he has to use force to open it.

Factual error: During the celebrations for the end of World War II, cars can be seen in the background that were made long after 1945. Also in this scene in the shot of Piccadilly Circus, the BMC {British Motor Corporation} rosette logo can be seen among the adverts. BMC wasn't formed until 1952.

Visible crew/equipment: Bearded crew-member visible in the scene where Mr. Sugden is selecting the football teams.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where the shipwreck survivors are being rescued by Captain Nemo's divers, Nanette Newman is barefoot as she is carried into the submarine. In the shot immediately following, she is being carried into the sub by a diver and she is wearing full length black boots.

Factual error: The Saint picks up a newspaper, and reads an article that is, according to the headline, about the murder of the Englishman he met the previous night. However, if you actually translate the Italian in the body of the article, it is talking about an industrial fire on a ship.

Revealing mistake: When the Remagen bridge is bombed, it is obvious that the bomber planes shown have been taken from several shots (possibly also from an earlier film) and the shots were superimposed. Also, the bombers appear transparent, and the background sky's color is unnaturally strong, too.

Continuity mistake: When Charlie Brown is doing the dog food for Snoopy, the amount of food in Snoopy's dish changes between the kitchen and the dog house.

Continuity mistake: When Anita Delon smells the special perfume her brother-in-law had made for Martha, Susan Strasberg's hair is on/off the side of her neck in the different shots. (00:28:20)

Continuity mistake: Professor Quigley shows his students a grocery list, and then demonstrates how a computer can be used to make a phone call to the grocer's and place the order by playing a recorded message. However, the grocery items named on the recording do not match the items on the list.

Revealing mistake: When the lift body first separates from the orbiter you can see the support wires for the orbiter hanging below (scene must have been filmed upside down).

Continuity mistake: At the porcelain store, after Tina drops the figure the position of the head of the man behind changes back and forth between close and wide shots.

Revealing mistake: Captain Beckman is in the tower shooting at a small German plane that is attacking the castle. He is told to aim for the engine but when he does and shoots it down its not the engine that smokes, its both the wheels that are smoking from some very obvious smoke tubes attached to the fixed landing gear.
