Corrected entry: In the scene where Holden is chasing the pig, he falls down on his bottom and obviously gets mud on it, yet when he gets back in the truck, his trousers are clean.
Corrected entry: When the plane hits the gas truck and it catches on fire, instead of getting out on the passenger side, the passenger crawls out the driver's side.
Correction: How is this a mistake? The fire on the passenger side of the truck, not visible to the audience, could have been severe, or the wind blowing in that direction. Any number of possibilities exist; at worst, this is a character mistake only.
Corrected entry: When Judah (as Young Arius) visits Messala, he says "Find them (his mother and sister) Messala", then "I will come back tomorrow, don't disappoint me, Messala". Following that, Drusus goes to the Citadel and finds them as lepers, who are then released. However, Judah never finds out that they are alive or lepers until Messala's death speech after the chariot race weeks/months later. If he "came back tomorrow", surely he would already know their fate. He may have been told they were dead by Messala, but I'm sure they would have shown this scene as a vindication of disgust of Messala's character. I think they just forgot this speech.
Correction: The discussion never happens because Judah never goes back to see Messala. Miriam and Tirzah are released from the dungeon that night, go back to their home, and talk to Esther. Judah is actually in this scene, seen returning from his meeting with Messala. Miriam and Tirzah ask Esther to tell no one that they're going to the Valley of the Lepers, and that they'd rather she tell Judah that they're dead. It's Esther who tells Judah that his mother and sister are dead, and Judah, instead of going back to visit Messala, goes to visit the Sheik and begins training for the chariot race.
Corrected entry: Before they start using magic, the fairies lock the door. When Rose gets back, she prances through the door easily.
Correction: When they hear Rose approaching they quickly arrange everything before she comes in. Obviously one of them unlocked the door.
Corrected entry: In the scenes where we alternately see Curtis with Monroe on the yacht and Lemmon with Brown dancing rhumba, a swish-pan (fast horizontal panning) is used to link the two situations with the cut in the middle. During these you can clearly see light and stage equipment.
Correction: The stage and lights you see belong to the stage where the tango actor-musicians are playing. It's part of the movie.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Judge Whittaker tells Mr. Douglas to "not turn it into a barnyard," her hand is on the microphone. But in the next shot, her hand is off.
Correction: I think this error is supposed to be for the 2006 remake, not the original.
Corrected entry: The plot of this movie is about the sole survivor of a plague or catastrophe that has killed everyone else on Earth; however, in one scene where this survivor (played by Harry Belafonte) is walking down a pier, a car with its headlights on is visible driving along the shoreline behind him.
Correction: He is not the only survivor. He meets two others and they even discuss the fact that they have received radio transmissions from others.
Corrected entry: Why does the wife of the old man have vampire clothes and long nails?
Correction: This is not a mistake, but rather a question. The plot revolves around aliens turning the dead into ghouls and vampires. The old man's wife is named in the credits as Vampire Girl. Additionally she is played by Maila Nurmi who created the character 'Vampira' and liked to portray that character in films.
Corrected entry: Dude, the deputy, is on the road at the end of town to take the guns away from those that enter town. This was pointless. Nobody is watching the other end of town. When Nathan and his men came to town, all they had to do to avoid Dude was ride in the desert and they could have entered the town anywhere they wanted.
Correction: This is wrong, but it is not clear from the movie. You can find it in the book. The Rio Bravo didn't have "the other end" to come in through. The town was built under a large rock with only one entrance from one side.
Corrected entry: Doris Day and Rock Hudson share a party line. Tony Randall (a mutual friend of the two) is at Rock Hudson's apartment trying to get Doris Day on the telephone but keeps getting a busy signal, meaning she's using the phone. The mistake is if they're sharing a party line Tony Randall should hear her voice when he first picks up the phone.
Correction: Tony Randall is getting a busy signal but it is not because she is on the phone. It is because in order for two people who share a party line to reach each other, they need to dial a code. If they don't they will receive a busy signal. Rock Hudson's character says for Doris Day to use the code if she wants to complain to him directly.
Corrected entry: When the dimitridon (those sail-finned dinosaurs) is attacking the Count and the Professor, the Professor states that dinosaurs can't swim. Then why would a whole pack of them live on the seashore? If they can't swim, than what's the advantage? They wouldn't be able to catch fish, and crabs would be too small.
Correction: Crabs may be too small, but animals that prey on crabs may not be. Fish can also wash up on the beach, and they can scavenge them and larger fish or aquatic reptiles. Also, rivers and streams usually empty into the ocean, so fresh water would be nearby. If they also eat vegetation, there is probably an abundance of vegetation around a shore as well. They may also prefer the open terrain for its abundant sun.
Corrected entry: When the Franks and Van Daans are being captured and when they're on the train, Anne has no yellow star. However, at the camp, she has a star.
Correction: How is this a mistake? She is issued with a uniform with a Juden Star on it when she arrives as the camp. All inmates were.
Correction: The character's name is Hunkle, not Holden.
