Continuity mistake: When Dead Meat has crashed, and Washout's parachute is lying on the road, the ambulance runs over it. In the first shot, the ambulance clearly runs completely over it without catching the parachute at all. In the next shot we see the ambulance hooking the parachute and dragging Washout along the road. (00:42:55)
Continuity mistake: In the start of the film Matthew McConaughey is sitting on a porch at a wedding reception smoking a cigar, in one shot he has a stub left then in the next it's a new one. (00:12:20)
Continuity mistake: Near the end of the film, when the SEALs are in the inflatable boats heading towards the coast of Beirut, there is a shot from behind showing all the SEALs wearing black diving suits. But when the shot changes to a close up of their faces, you can see they are wearing camouflage fatigues, not diving suits.
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the film, Keanu Reeves gives Victoria a fake wedding ring from one of the chocolates. Previously, you can see that he is wearing his real one. When he puts another ring from the chocolate on his own finger, his original one is gone.
Continuity mistake: When the bad guy winds up to throw the dynamite into the cantina, McNally puts a round through his brisket, and he falls to the ground clutching his belly. He weakly tosses the dynamite, then stumbles back behind the adobe, now clutching his right shoulder.
Continuity mistake: The position of the needle and thread lying on Peter's body differ in the wide shot and following close-up. (01:59:10)
Continuity mistake: When Cronauer first goes with Tuan to see the Vietnamese village, he is wearing a white shirt. In a subsequent shot, the shirt is plaid.
Continuity mistake: When Pavel picks up the tire from the outhouse, it is a thin tyre with vertical lines, when Bruno is swinging on the tyre a few shots later, it is a thick tyre with lines both vertical and horizontal.
Continuity mistake: The film is set on the Western Front during WWI but was filmed in Ireland in 1965. As George Peppard is driving to join his squadron for the first time the camera pans the horizon and loads of houses can be seen to have TV aerials.
Continuity mistake: When Leonidas says, "The oracle also said our painted-on abs look fake," the fat guy is having abs painted on him, but when the Spartans are skipping, his abs are gone.
Continuity mistake: There is genuine wartime footage of Spitfires of the the right type for the period, but other scenes have later (maybe even postwar) versions flying about.
Continuity mistake: During the long wedding scene, while Michael watches Linda on the dance floor, the level of the beer in his glass goes up and down several times.
Continuity mistake: Near the end of the movie, when Ed Leland is about to enter the Customs Office, the insignia on his hat is intact, but when he enters it has disappeared.
Continuity mistake: After the "car chase" the white car gets put in the barn. When the black car arrives it is covered in mud (so much they have to wipe it off the windscreen) from the dirt track. The white car only has a few specks of dirt.
Continuity mistake: The film is supposed to take place in 1917, but several of the german soldiers our heroes encounter are armed with Bergman M18 sub-machineguns which didn't appear until a year later. To make things even worse all the guns comes with a magazine-type that didn't appear until the mid-thirties.
Continuity mistake: When that one captain is refusing to obey the orders of Nick Nolte he says the time is 13:21 but his watch says it's actually 14:31. Then a couple of seconds later the time is 14:45. Their whole conversation was shown and there was no time in between and it was much shorter than 15 minutes. (01:03:00)
Continuity mistake: Nellie is called into Captain Brackett's office one day. Later, one of the girls asks her "What did the old man want this morning?" However, the scene at night between Billis and Cable shows that a whole day and night must have passed in between these two scenes. Therefore the nurse should have asked "What did the old man want yesterday?"
Continuity mistake: Charlie, disguised as a tree, enters a pipe to escape a German. When the German tries to pull Charlie out he separates the lower part of the tree costume along with Charlie's shoes. When Charlie emerges from the other end of the pipe he is still wearing shoes.
Continuity mistake: Amon Goeth pulls out a German Luger to shoot the rabbi. The Luger jams so Goeth pulls out another pistol and pulls the slide back indicating a semi-auto handgun. The second also fails. Goeth gets frustrated and throws the gun on the ground. When the other Nazi picks it up, it's magically a revolver. (01:28:05)
Continuity mistake: When the Austrian Emperor and Gustav's father die on the same day Gustav puts their photographs on a sideboard. The close-up of Gustav's father's picture shows a white background, in contrast to all wide shots. (00:44:15)
