Trivia: Small children have told Billy Bob Thornton they like the film - he was reportedly "stunned" that parents would allow their kids to watch it.
Trivia: The first version of the screenplay had the main roles gender swapped. It was deemed too "predatory" to have a woman in a coma and a man claiming to be in a relationship with her.
Trivia: Rudolph and others visit the island of misfit toys and promise to help them. In the original version, the Misfits don't get mentioned again, and the producers were swamped with letters from children, upset that the Misfits didn't get the help they were promised. A new scene was produced and included in future versions, where Santa and Rudolph give the toys new homes.
Trivia: When being played on basic cable or regular TV, John McClane's catchphrase "Yippee ki yay, mother fucker!" is sometimes oddly redubbed as "Yippee ki yay, Mr. Falcon!" Falcon is the call sign for General Esperanza's original flight, which half explains the odd wording.
Trivia: When Billy's mom takes the picture of Gizmo at the beginning, Gizmo becomes frightened and runs over to Mr. Peltzer. When the scene is slowed, you can see the puppeteer's hand underneath while operating the Gizmo doll. Not a mistake as needs slo-mo, but worth a look. (00:19:10)
Trivia: Sylvester Stallone, actually tore a muscle in his heart while filming the training sequence in which he lifts the sleigh that everybody was sitting in. Filming had to stop for two months so doctors could make sure that he healed properly and the chances for him having a heart attack would be reduced.
Trivia: Any viewers outside of Britain might not get the joke when Billy Mack isn't sure which one is Ant or Dec. They are very well known in the UK, and dominate Saturday night telly. The joke refers to the fact that even though they are popular, a lot of people don't know which one's which.
Trivia: When Jack Black is singing the tune from "The Graduate" in the video store, the guy who tuts and gets annoyed is Dustin Hoffman, who starred in the Graduate. Apparently his cameo was unplanned, he noticed the cameras and stopped by, and it was decided he should make his small appearance.
Trivia: When Frosty has just been smashed up and we see his head, the light in his eye goes out a bit like the terminators at the end of "Terminator 3" (2003).
Trivia: In the credits the song "Forgiveness" plays, but sometimes in the song you hear three Beatles effects, like the way she says "Time, time, time" 6 times and ends with a cat noise. That is kind of like in the middle of "Hey Jude" where instead of "Time" the word is "Better" and they end with a scream. And after the cat noise, you hear a "Ha Ha Ha" like the song "I am The Walrus," and at the very end there is a build-up of orchestra followed by an ending note that holds to fade like the song "A Day in the Life."
Trivia: At the end of the film when Scrooge is going round being nice to everyone, as he's on his way to the Cratchit's house, we see in the background a shop called "Micklewhite's". This is Michael Caine's real surname. (01:20:55)
Trivia: When Molly crashes the cab, you see the advertisement on the top of the cab reads "Senor Pizza." This was the name of the pizza place in the movie Loverboy, which Kirstie Alley was in.

Trivia: The sorority mom, Andrea Martin, is also one of the girls in the original "Black Christmas". Her name in the original was Phyllis.
Trivia: Abigail Breslin, who plays Trish the elf girl, is the younger sister of Spencer Breslin, who plays Curtis.
Trivia: In the original book, the boy who's friends with the snowman isn't given a name. In the film he's given a gift by Father Christmas with a nametag on it, so the filmmakers opted for James, the husband of one of the animators.
Trivia: Siblings Anonymous features three real brothers of celebrities: Frank Stallone, Roger Clinton, and Stephen Baldwin.
Trivia: The title was suggested by Val Kilmer - it was originally called simply "Bang!"
