Continuity mistake: Right before Ben jumps off the cliff, he drinks a small cup of coffee and places it back on a saucer that Jonathan is holding. When the shot cuts, the saucer is still visible in Jonathan's hand, but the cup cannot be seen on it. The cup then reappears in the next shot.

Factual error: The vents that Hunt and his sidekick crawl down at CIA Headquarters are standard galvanized steel box vents; they are very common in the building trade. Try walking or crawling down one - you'll make a noise like the sky is falling down. People will be able to hear you for miles. Every person in that building would know somebody crawling about in the vent system. (This error applies to dozens of films, not only this one).

Continuity mistake: When Portnow meets with Bishop at the church, in the first closeup of Bishop's crossword puzzle the word "MUD" is the second word across at the top, and at the center of the puzzle the 4-letter word "GEAR" is written in the 5-letter answer - with the fist space left empty. However, in the next closeup of the puzzle, now the word "ETA" is the second word at the top and "MUD" is the third, and the word "GEARS" has the "S" added, with the letter "G" started properly in the first space of the answer. Plot hole: Michael Dorsey is a jobbing actor working as a kitchen hand, and his flatmate Geoff is an aspiring writer trying to raise the capital to have his latest play on stage - yet they can afford a huge, open plan apartment in New York City. The rent on that apartment would easily exceed their combined income from their low-paying jobs. There is no indication that they are independently wealthy - why would they need Dorsey's fees from the soap opera to stage Geoff's play if they were?

Continuity mistake: During the "Why Should I Worry" song, Dodger goes with his "scarf" of sausages through a basin full of wet cement. Logically the cement should be stuck on the sausages, though that does not appear to happen, even though the sausages went through the cement. There is cement on his paws, though, that he needs to wash off.
