Revealing mistake: When Iola's quilt shrinks in the dryer at the end of the episode, the individual squares do not shrink. Instead, there are simply fewer of them in each direction.

Days of Our Lives (1965)
Plot hole: On 10/27/03, Brady picks up a newspaper with the headline, "Suspect List Grows in Police Slaying." But that doesn't make any sense. The page features pictures of the same seven people who have been suspects for the last few weeks, and no other suspects have come to light. The suspect list hasn't grown at all.

Denial (1998)
Continuity mistake: When Sammie wakes up alone in bed, she can see a rapidly moving shadow inside the bathroom. After she sneaks outside the house around to the window, she looks in and we see Sam in the bathtub, masturbating to magazine centerfolds. The problem is that in this second shot, Sam is very far from the door and there is no shadow visible inside the bathroom. In fact, there is not even a light source on the other side of the door from him. Sammie therefore should not have seen a shadow from inside the bedroom.

True Spin (2003)
Trivia: The debut episode of this original VH1 series examined the B-52s' "Love Shack," and debunks the myth that the song is about a woman getting pregnant. Years ago, VH1's own Pop Up Video perpetuated this very myth by incorrectly identifying the phrase "tin roof, rusted" as a euphamism for pregnancy.

Passions (1999)
Plot hole: How bad is the security at LA City Hospital? In October, 2003, not only did LaToya pull a knife on Whitney in the waiting room while Chad was also fighting with Puff Dog, but later Gwen nearly strangled Theresa to death in a fight that involved a lot of shouting and clattering of instruments being knocked to the ground. Where were the security guards and medical personnel while all of this was happening?

Days of Our Lives (1965)
Continuity mistake: At the end of the 10/16/03 episode, Brady and Philip began to fight in Salem Place. At the same time, Will left the apartment after hearing Sami and Lucas saying they wished he'd never been born, and Victor told Nicole they were going to leave the mansion and go for a walk at Salem Place. The scenes were replayed at the beginning of the 10/17/03 episode, as they usually are, but there was a big discrepancy in the timeframe. While Brady and Philip went through the exact same scene as they began their fight, Sami and Lucas had already spent some time looking for Will around town, and Nicole and Victor had made it down to Salem Place for their walk.

Beautiful Girl (2003)
Trivia: About fifty minutes into the movie, one of the other pageant contestants tells Becca Wasserman to make sure she uses "every girl's secret weapon, hairspray. It will make her a star." The joke is that the actress playing Becca, Marissa Jaret Winokur, gained sudden fame after winning a Tony for her performance in the Broadway musical Hairspray.

Passions (1999)
Continuity mistake: In every single scene that Theresa appeared in for an entire week in October, 2003, some member of the hospital staff was telling her to leave the premises immediately. She was told "for the last time" at least six times, and Dr. Taylor said twice that he was going to call security. Yet Theresa stayed at the hospital without anybody actually doing anything about it, and she managed to exacerbate Gwen's condition three separate times.

Passions (1999)
Continuity mistake: On 10/13/03, Gwen's memories come rushing back, of how Theresa contributed to her losing her baby. One of the memories is of seeing Ethan and Theresa making out on televesion. But she remembers it completely differently from how it really happened. When she was upset at what she saw on television while the doctors were there, what she was seeing was Julian and Rebecca denouncing Theresa's charitable contributions. When she saw the kiss, she was alone in her hospital room. In the flashback, the two scenes are merged.

Passions (1999)
Plot hole: In October, 2003, when Sheridan nearly drowned after being dumped off the boat, she found herself in a heavenly setting where her dead mother Katherine guided her "into the light." The next week, Death came and removed her spirit from her hospitalized body while she struggled against it. But wasn't she already dead?.

Passions (1999)
Revealing mistake: On 10/13/03, Ivy and David are discussing their plans in normal speaking voices while the unsuspecting Grace and John stand within arm's reach. They are well within earshot, yet the audience is expected to believe that Grace and John can't hear them.

Passions (1999)
Plot hole: The Antonio-Sheridan-Luis triangle stopped making any sense a very long time ago. Antonio has been healthy since March, 2003, so there's no reason why anybody hasn't told him by October that Sheridan and Luis are in love (They couldn't tell him earlier due to his illness and the need to keep him very calm.). Furthermore, even though none of their friends or family said anything to Antonio, he surely would have heard by now. After all, the Cranes are front page news (witness the revelation of Ethan's paternity and the recovery of Sheridan from the ocean - the second time), so surely it would have been a huge tabloid scandal when Sheridan married the brother of her former fiancé.

Passions (1999)
Plot hole: A person can typically survive for only about five minutes without oxygen. It's not entirely clear how much time elapsed after Beth and Charlie dumped Sheridan into the water on 9/25/03, but we do know that before she resurfaced, the women returned to the dock, Luis took the same boat back out onto the water, and then returned to the dock as well and made it all the way to Beth's house. This must have taken much longer than five minutes. Yet, inexplicably, Sheridan - who had given birth to a baby just hours earlier - was still alive when she was brought to the hospital on 10/8/03.

Days of Our Lives (1965)
Continuity mistake: On 10/9/03, Marlena sees the blood-red moon and says that she does not believe in signs or omens because she is a psychiatrist. Marlena was possessed by the Devil in 1995, so it doesn't make sense for her not to believe in mystical things, woman of science or not.

Passions (1999)
Continuity mistake: On 10/6/03, Theresa called home to talk to her mother Pilar and her son Ethan. Ethan, born in the summer of 2002, had not been seen on the show for a little while, and was now much older than previously. He was about two or three years old.

Passions (1999)
Plot hole: On 10/2/03, LaToya walked up to Chad at the hospital and slapped him. But Puff Dog only gave her the address of the Crane apartment where Chad was staying, so how did LaToya find Chad at the hospital?

Days of Our Lives (1965)
Plot hole: On 10/6/03, Sami tries to listen at the door when Marlena meets with Kate in the latter's office at Basic Black. She says to herself that she wants to find out Kate's secret. But Sami already knows that Kate was once a prostitute. Sami used evidence of Kate's past to blackmail Kate and Victor; Kate's son Austin found out, and that was one of the reasons why he left Sami at the altar. Even though Sami can't know for sure that this is the same secret that is now in question, she is acting as if she knows nothing incriminating about Kate.

Passions (1999)
Continuity mistake: The show is woefully inconsistent in regards to when conversations can and cannot be overheard. Tabitha, Ivy, Kay, and Liz all routinely eavesdrop through closed plate-glass windows. On the other hand, Whitney could not hear Chad and LaToya speaking through an open doorway. Also, years ago, Ethan somehow couldn't hear Theresa talking to Pilar about her love for him even though he was standing on the landing directly above them. To contrast, Days Of Our Lives has managed to avoid such egregious discrepancies.

Days of Our Lives (1965)
Factual error: The Salem Police Department is grossly misusing the term "serial killer" in conjunction with the Abe Carver murder. The inaccuracies are too numerous to list, but the most obvious is the fact that the police believe that Abe was murdered by someone with a specific motive. A serial killer selects victims based on a general profile, usually in conjunction with a psychological "need" to commit the crime. The police brand the unidentified murder a serial killer based purely on the fact that they think he or she may strike again. But not every multiple murderer is a serial killer, and the police would certainly know better than to fall prey to this misnomer.
