Continuity mistake: When Lassiter, his men, and the cavalry are on one side and the residents of Walnut Grove are on the other, it appears the two sides are having a discussion with one another. If you notice carefully, the angle of the sun from each side does not match up at the same time of day. It's way off to the side (late in the day) for Lassiter's side and directly in front and high up around noon when the Walnut Grove residents are shown. Obviously, each side filmed separately.
