Directed by: Mel Brooks
Starring: Bill Pullman, John Candy, Rick Moranis, Mel Brooks, Daphne Zuniga, Joan Rivers, George Wyner
Continuity mistake: After Dark Helmet has stolen Lone Starr's ring of the Schwartz and dropped it down in the grill, Lone Starr is wearing it again after he gets into his Starship.
Col. Sandurz: Lord Helmet.
Dark Helmet: WHAT?!
Col. Sandurz: You're needed on the bridge, sir.
Dark Helmet: KNOCK ON MY DOOR! KNOCK NEXT TIME!
Col. Sandurz: Yes, sir.
Dark Helmet: Did you see anything?
Col. Sandurz: No, sir. I didn't see you playing with your dolls again.
Dark Helmet: Good.
Trivia: Mel Brooks allegedly waited so long to create his spoof of Star Wars as he wanted to spoof the entire trilogy.
Question: When Dark Helmet says that there are two sides to every Schwartz, is this an obscure reference to something else, besides the obvious light side and dark side of the force?
Answer: "There are two sides to every sword" is a common saying.

Answer: He tells Lone Starr he can only know what it means at the "proper time." Which, of course, ends up being right before the ending, conveniently at just the right moment for him to be able to marry the princess. It's a borderline meta-joke; he finally is told what it means, but only when it's super convenient for the plot. It's kind of poking fun at the idea of tropes and clichés like this, where a last-minute revelation saves the day.
