Visible crew/equipment: When Lionel returns to the jazz bar and discovers Billy Rose has been killed (framed as a suicide), you can see two people standing in the shadows to the left of Lionel as he enters the main room where the stage is located. A man is hunched over, whilst a woman is standing still wearing what looks like a dust mask. (01:32:27)
Revealing mistake: The film was rushed to theaters, leaving a few mistakes which Universal fixed. In the original cut, toward the end, Judi Dench's human hand is visible, complete with her wedding ring. This was fixed for the re-release.
Continuity mistake: Ellen and Joe just got out of the motel room and begin walking towards the marina. Left of frame, a young couple (she has a cap and denim, he has a full carrot top and a bright red plaid shirt, can't miss them) walking up some stairs on the left, going in the same direction as they do, different path. At the next cut, they are walking down the same boardwalk as Ellen and Joe and in the opposite direction. (00:04:30)
Continuity mistake: In the movie ending, the three main characters (and two main actors) are walking off together following Will Smith Sr. That 'knows a place' to eat. Notice on the left part of the frame, along the path they are traveling, a couple of students; he has a beige jacket, yellow-ish sneakers and jeans, she has a blue jacket, and they are talking with another girl with a lighter blue jacket. In the next shot Danny asks him "So you settled down on major yet?" and the two aforementioned students are behind them, standing at the beginning of the walkway. (01:45:35)
Visible crew/equipment: As the camera moves forward in the opening shot, a clear reflection of a film light can be seen on the side of the fire engine.
Other mistake: Elsa Brecht is holding an official piece of mail sent from the Coconut Grove Hotel in Miami but it's postmarked Orlando, Florida. There's no legitimate reason the mail would be postmarked Orlando when Orlando is 235 miles from Miami. (01:24:16)
Continuity mistake: When Laurie walks away from Amy after she tells him to get a job, Amy has her hands at the center of her sketch pad, but they are at the edges in the next shot. (01:14:30)
Continuity mistake: When the male elder is lying on the ground after jumping off the cliff, there is nothing on the ground around his head. When he realises that his leg has broken off and the HÃ¥rgas start wailing, there is an additional shot included in the Director's Cut where a rock has suddenly appeared beside the man's head. (Director's Cut). (01:11:40)
Continuity mistake: When Elton and John Reid are kissing in the cupboard John's hand keeps changing between shots. John's hand rolls down Elton's chest, then the next shot it's on Elton's cheek, the next shot he takes his hand away, then the next shot his hand is by Elton's mouth and Elton pretends to bite John's thumb.
Continuity mistake: Just before Rick's appearance on The FBI is shown, Rick is holding a cigarette in his left hand and a can in his right hand. It then cuts to Rick pointing at the TV, and the cigarette and can are both in his right hand.
Continuity mistake: When Pope Ratzinger and Cardinal Bergoglio are having lunch with pizza and drink, the Pope places a Fanta bottle on his side on the right. When he says the prayer and the shot is from the above, the bottle returns to its place next to the other one and then it is again on the Pope's side. (01:34:45)
Continuity mistake: When Russ and Frank are in the hotel pool the woman in the left is holding a cigarette. In the close-up it swaps to a lemonade. Then in the wide angle it swaps back to a cigarette.
Factual error: The time is set in 1980 but the cars on the motorway are not remotely appropriate for the era. (00:01:36)
Factual error: The American soldier on the balcony is waving a 50 star flag. (01:30:06)
Continuity mistake: When Joker confesses that he was the one who killed the three guys in the subway at the Murray Franklin Show and also says "It's not a joke", he keeps his gaze turned towards Murray in one shot and towards the audience in the next.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of El Camino, Jesse shows a much thicker beard than he had in his final appearance in S5:E16 of Breaking Bad.
Continuity mistake: In the first scene at Grandma's house, she wakes Nicole and Henry up early, and tells him to go make mom some coffee. Between shots there are different continuity errors; at first the sheet is rumpled, then the blanket is covering it entirely, then when Grandma leans in and kisses him you can notice Scarlett's right arm first on her chest then behind her back, and Azhy Robertson's chest is uncovered in the second shot when he was still under the blanket up to his neck earlier.
