Character mistake: When Vallian prepares to leave the homestead, McKaskell asks him how his chest wound was. Vallian was shot low on the right side, just above the gun-belt, and McKaskell, who removed the bullet, was quite aware of the location.
Character mistake: When Charlie is making the come back against the guy in the bar, he only needed twenty but he actually gives 25. When Charlie asks how many so far a guy yells out 14, but he's actually at 19 at that point.
Character mistake: When the Marines are navigating through the Paris Island obstacle course, Hartman is shouting "It should take you no less than 10 seconds to negotiate this obstacle!" In other words, the LONGER it takes someone to get across, the better? (00:13:27)
Character mistake: On the handwritten label Bond finds, Bratislava is written Bratislavia.
Character mistake: When Hollywood Montrose tells Jonathan Switcher that all the female mannequins have been stolen, they both run into the front window where there's a female mannequin.
Character mistake: During the scene in the diner, there is a sign that reads "EMPLOYEE'S ONLY." There shouldn't be an apostrophe.
Character mistake: When Dan and Beth are talking on the phone, Beth says Ellen, their daughter, is five years old, but later, when Dan and Alex are together, Dan says Ellen is six years old.
Character mistake: During the movie, Stallone Lincoln Hawk is referred several times as 'Hawks' by other characters (the police officer retrieving him from his cell, as well as his former father-in-law, who should know his real name). Lincoln actually calls himself Hawkes before he crashes the gate.
Character mistake: After Ricky has just killed his girlfriend with the car antenna, he's challenged by a police officer. Officers would never walk right up to someone who have just committed a murder. Police would always order the suspect into a position that presents the least amount of threat and minimal chance of resistance. Grabbing the officer's gun would never had been an option.
Character mistake: When Polly answers the phone and is told of the log drifting in the channel, she immediately yells to Sean and tells him this. However, she does not leave enough time for the caller to be able to tell her all this, she leaves 1-2 seconds before passing it on to Sean.
Character mistake: The bulletin of the plane crash announces J.P. Richardson (The Big Bopper) as from Louisiana. Richardson was born in Sabine Pass, Texas and later moved to Beaumont, Texas where he lived for the rest of his life.
Character mistake: Police Chief Lutz tells Axel (Johnny Wishbone) that he checked with Immigration and they never heard of Johnny Wishbone. He says, "you're illegal, buster." Johnny Wishbone is from St. Croix, which is in the United States Virgin Islands. Johnny Wishbone would be a U.S. Citizen. (00:51:27)
Character mistake: Theresa Russell identifies the rare coin as "Felice Baciocchi and her sister Elisa." Aside from the mispronunciation, Felice Baciocchi is a man.
Character mistake: During the whole movie the rank of the CO "wild Bill" is Captain. But in one of the final scenes where they are saying their goodbyes Curtis suddenly says Colonel. (01:24:45)
Character mistake: The little girl asks Kristen "what's your name?" Kristen replies "Kirsten". (00:05:59)
Suggested correction: I hear her say "Kristen." The transcript and subtitle even say "Kristen."
Character mistake: It doesn't occur to our heroes (admittedly kids) that you don't need to understand German at all in order to read it out loud. It's arguably easier to read than English! The only inscrutable letter would be "ẞ" but Scary German Guy's right there for help. (True, this is essentially what they end up doing in the end, but they still come about it through a "you don't need to be of age to be a virgin" realization rather than the even simpler "you don't need to know German.").
Character mistake: When Modoc is suggesting what type of blood to drink, he suggests pigs blood B-. Swine don't have B blood. They have A and O blood only.
Character mistake: When Mac describes what he saw after Blaine was killed, he states that he "capped off 200 rounds with the minigun." At the rate the minigun fires, and the length of time Mac was shooting, he fired at least 10 times that amount. Perhaps he meant to say "capped off 2000 rounds." This adds to another mistake: the ammo pack Blaine carried only holds 500 rounds but much more than that is fired during the course of the film.
Suggested correction: He actually says "capped off 20 rounds, in the minigun...full pack" just the word spacing is a bit odd. 20 rounds refers to his normal gun which ran out of ammo quickly.
No, he says "capped off 200 rounds." I've just watched it with subtitles on. What I heard (200) matched with the subs.
Character mistake: The Daily Planet newspaper headline "New publisher for your favourite paper" has "favourite" is spelled the British English way. Since Metropolis is in the United States it should be spelled "favorite."
