Revealing mistake: Bond escapes from the buried pipeline when two technicians open a hatch from the outside. One tech unlocks the hatch by rotating a large wheel, which drives the locking mechanism. But when he finally opens the hatch, there's absolutely no mechanism attached. There's just a bare axle that the wheel turns on.
Revealing mistake: Just before the truck slides off the cliff edge, you can see that the truck's cab door is open where the stunt driver jumped out.
Revealing mistake: Near the end the psycho killer pays a black man to beat him up so that he can then blame the injuries on Dirty Harry. Watch the killer's hairdo as he gets punched and beaten: a couple of rear-view scenes show an obviously fake wig, intended to look like the killer's own bad-hair-day style. (01:16:05)
Revealing mistake: In the slow motion crash of Steve McQueen's Porsche 917 you can clearly see that the car is empty.
Revealing mistake: At the beginning of the movie, when Kowalski is chased by cops on motorcycles on a dirt road, in the shots from behind the Challenger you can see two people in the car.
Revealing mistake: Early in the movie when the maid is opening the drapes to let in the morning sun, the sun lights the room a half a second before the drapes are actually opened.
Revealing mistake: Throughout the film, when the camera goes close to Zira, you can see the line where her wig is glued on.
Revealing mistake: When Shaft and his buds are sneaking into a building to save Bumpy's daughter, a pedestrian momentarily comes into the shot and then quickly steps out when he sees the camera crew. (01:18:45)
Suggested correction: I believe the entry refers to the initial rescue attempt, at 1:18:45. I am not entirely convinced that this is a legitimate goof though: the man sees 3 guys peeking into an alley, and he seems to rather stop and backtrack to check out whatever they are looking up, the exact opposite of 'stepping out'. It's still a rather amusing detail, though.
Revealing mistake: When Von Richthofen is shot down and crash-lands in the combat zone, German and British soldiers arrive and fight for possession of the Red Baron's plane. It is strange, though, that the German soldiers fire British Lee Enfield rifles instead of the German Mauser Gewehr 98.
