Corrected entry: In the scene where the elves introduce the 'We are Santa's Elves' song to Santa Claus, the head elf's voice doesn't match his voice from previous and subsequent scenes.
Corrected entry: At the beginning when Mrs. Bank is talking to Katie Nanna you can see the clock behind her and you can clearly see that the time is 6:30 when a little later it is at 6:00.
Correction: The time does not show 6:30 when Mrs. Banks arrives home it actually is right around 5:55. Then a few moments after the song "Sister Suffragette" ends you see it is almost 6:00 so they prepare themselves for Admiral Boom's firing of his cannon.
Corrected entry: When, at the end, Dr. Strangelove is explaining his plan and his hand goes out of control, you can see the Russian diplomat behind him (on the left) trying desperately not to laugh.
Correction: Look again - the 'desperate' attempt not to laugh continues after an edit. It's deliberate - the Russian ambassador is trying not to show his derision at an American acting like a lunatic. He is a diplomat, after all.
This is not accurate...the attempt not to laugh does not continue after any edit. It is, in fact, actor Peter Bull trying not to laugh. While you may argue that it's in keeping with his character trying to be diplomatic, it definitely was not deliberate.
Corrected entry: Paul Mantee had to blow up the orbiting Earth spacecraft as he watched it from the surface. Why could we hear it explode when it is outside the martian atmosphere and within a second after pressing the detonation button?
Correction: Because in the science fiction universe sound not only travels in a vacuum, it travels at the speed of light. If you doubt that, watch the Death Star explode - we see it from millions of kilometers away but we still hear the sound at the same time as we see the explosion, and all this in the vacuum of outer space. There are too many other examples to list here.
Corrected entry: At the point when George is asked to autograph a photo for Paul's grandfather, he pulls the pen out of his pocket before he is asked to sign.
Correction: He's a celebrity (albeit a minor one, in this film), and when someone holds a photograph out, he knows what they want - an autograph. Not a mistake.
Corrected entry: Before the first attack when the camp outside of the missionary station is dismantled, a group of soldiers double time it down the dirt track. As they go past a tent, one of them trips on one of the tent guide ropes and nearly falls flat on his face.
Correction: People trip in real life. Not an error.
Corrected entry: When the Rojos steals the gold from the Mexican soldiers, one of them uses an automatic machine gun to scythe them down. While it has been poorly disguised as a gattling gun, it is clearly a 'true' automatic machine gun, probably either a Vickers or a Browning. Such guns did not exist at the time the movie was set, not long after the Civil War (The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly, set during that war, was actually a prequel).
Correction: It is not a machine gun, but a "mitrailleuse" volley gun, older than the Gatling gun.
Corrected entry: When the UN astronauts find the Union Jack on the moon it is tattered and weathered, having been there for over sixty years. However, in reality, this would not occur in an airless environment such as the moon.
Correction: Items left on the moon will deteriorate, but not because of weather (obviously). The damage is caused by other factors, such as the effects of intense sunlight (which can cause fabric to bleach and become brittle), and also because of the constant rain of micro-meteorites (which the Earth is protected from by our atmosphere). Other effects include landslides, thermal stress from rapid temperature changes, etc.
Corrected entry: After Goldfinger has been sucked out of the plane, and it is diving as Bond makes his way to the cockpit, there is a man lying on the floor in the cabin who was not previously in this scene. Where did he appear from, as the only people in the cabin were Bond and Goldfinger? This scene has obvously had something edited out.
Correction: The man is always there, perfectly visible, and has a noticeable afro: Behind Goldfinger when he opens the curtains, and next to Goldfinger when he fights against Bond.
Corrected entry: When Molly Brown is on the Titanic and it hits the iceberg, there is a shot from a distance showing the collision. If you look on the left hand side of the screen, bottom left of the iceberg, you can spot land (in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean).
Correction: I have watched this many times, and there is no land visible.
Corrected entry: When Miriam is slapping a hysterical Charlotte in the car, she is hitting a dummy. The head moves unnaturally, as if mounted on a pivot joint, and the rest of her body is completely still.
Correction: Charlotte is not a dummy. You don't have to move your shoulders when you are slapped. No, the whole slapping scene is all Charlotte.
Corrected entry: I saw this bizzare incident while watching the movie on video. In the scene where the expedition reaches the shore of Mothra's island to plead for her help, numerous skeletons of creatures are seen in the background. As the group is talking about the effects of atomic testing on the island, the head of the reptillian-shaped skeleton in the center of the background begins to wobble back and forth unnaturally, possibly due to it not being properly mounted on the rest of the body.
Correction: Actually, the "skeleton" you speak of is a malnourished giant turtle. It is moving its head.
Corrected entry: When Professor Higgins has turned on three of his recordings to a speed that makes them sound like the chipmunks, it takes three separate switches - one on each - to turn them on, but he only flicks the third switch a second time to stop them all. (The other two aren't anywhere in reach at the time.).
Correction: Ever heard of a master-switch?
Corrected entry: As the Squadron is getting ready for their mission, the hero gets in a jeep to drive to his plane. He actually travels about 10 yards and stops at his plane. Couldn't he have walked and saved the fuel? There is a war on after all.
Correction: This is a character mistake, not a movie mistake.
Corrected entry: Dr. Morgan's car is initially a 1956 Chevrolet wagon, as he is hunting vampires, it becomes a 1958 Ford Wagon.
Correction: The vampires destroyed the first car - he went to a car dealership and got the other.
Corrected entry: Medusa possessed no power to make victims look at her. That and they instantly turned to stone, not after a few minutes.
Correction: First, the film isn't about Medusa specifically. It's just about a Gorgon. Medusa wasn't the only Gorgon. However, the film only takes inspiration from the mythological stories and puts its own spin on it. Just like any fantasy or mythological film, they can add whatever elements or details they want.
True but she was the only one with the power of turning people to stone. Hence why I thought it was her not her sisters. Thank you anyway, I can be foolish at times.
Correction: The Head Elf was putting on a fake "nice voice" so that Santa and Mrs. Claus would think he was a nice guy most of the time. As soon as Santa and Mrs. Claus leave the room, he reverts back to his usual mean and shouting persona.
