Continuity mistake: The Bismarck is sighted by a British agent in southern Norway, sailing out of the Baltic into the North Sea - east to west. But the view through the agent's binoculars shows the ship sailing from right to left on the screen - which would be sailing west to east from the point of view of an observer on the Norwegian coast.
Continuity mistake: McQueen and Brynner take a hearse up the hill to deliver a coffin to the graveyard. When they go back down the hill, you can see a plume fall off one of the horses' heads, but in the next shot, the plume is back on. (00:16:05)
Continuity mistake: In an early scene Travis and Dickenson are in Travis's office. Travis goes to the mantel, gets a cigar and pours himself a glass of sherry. In a later scene, when Travis meets Crockett in the cantina he refuses a drink from Crockett claiming he doesn't drink, ever.
Continuity mistake: Before Pollyanna arrives on the train, when Jimmy Bean pushes the metal hoop down the road, two girls stop their doll carriages right beside each other and grab their dolls, but in the next shot their carriages are about 4 feet apart, which is now wide enough for Jimmy to run between. Continuity mistake: When Cary Grant tells Deborah Kerr to keep the door closed, she is holding a record album. As a reaction to his directive, she lowers the LP to about waist level. The camera shot changes and she's holding the LP higher again. (00:27:55)
Continuity mistake: In the scene when Lulu Bains is prancing around in the dressing room, there is one steady shot of her. In this shot, as she moves around, the right strap on her outfit begins to slip off her shoulder. The shot ends by her side with the strap completely down her mid-bicep; however, in the very next shot, which is from the front, her right strap is back up, and it's her left strap which is halfway down. The print wasn't reversed to this effect, either.
Continuity mistake: Just before Crassus has Spartacus crucified,he tells him the fate of his wife and son. A camera closeup shows a change in Kirk Douglas's hairstyle.
Continuity mistake: In the bar scene, near the beginning of the film, the pint glass that Albert Finney holds, constantly changes position. (00:06:05)

Continuity mistake: It was not a suicide attempt after all, and much relieved, CC grabs the bag of groceries to bring it inside the kitchen. He is carrying the bag to his right with the torso tilted, but in the reverse shot here he is, tilted in the opposite direction, the bag weighing against his left side. (01:37:45)
Continuity mistake: The first time you see "No Sale" written in lipstick on a big mirror by Elizabeth Taylor, the "o" in "No" is partially formed. The next time you see the mirror, the letter "o" has been filled in and completed.
Continuity mistake: When the boiler explodes, Robert Stack runs into his daughter's bedroom, looks down the big hole and the cabin below has nobody in it. He tries to save his daughter and the camera angle shows someone lying on the floor next to the hole. Looks down for the third time, and the person lying on the floor is gone again.
Continuity mistake: When Marchello is on a rooftop restaurant before opening time he is trying to type something as a journalist but he keeps getting distracted, so he asks the girl who works there to turn the jukebox off, which she does by pulling something from behind it, like the power cord. When he asks to have it turned back on, the girl just presses something simple in the front, instead of at the back, which she should have done.
