Corrected entry: Storm Shadow is taken to the prison in the beginning of the movie dressed in Snake Eye's armor. When his swords are removed and placed in the holes of the step, the handles are black. When Storm Shadow escapes the tank and grabs the swords from the step to escape, the handles are white.

Corrected entry: When Bill asks the Doctor to tell her if his cooperation with the Monks is a trick or an illusion while holding him at gunpoint, she's holding the pistol in a two-handed grip. When the camera cuts to the Doctor as he lies that it isn't a trick, and then back to Bill, she's suddenly holding the gun with one hand. (00:18:15)
Correction: The problem is this doesn't occur in consecutive shots. After the first closeup of Bill there's a shot facing the Doctor as he says, "It's not a trick. It's not a plan. I have joined the Monks," and in that moment Bill has ample time to simply lower her arm/hand. No continuity issue in this sequence of shots.
If you look really carefully at the shot immediately after the first one, facing the Doctor, Bill's hand, holding the gun, is visible - and she's only holding it in one hand in that shot as well.
I've got it playing now as I'm typing. I understand what you're saying, but compare this shot to the prior shot from a similar angle, right after Bill has taken the gun, just as the Doctor says, "Bill, put...put the gun down," then she replies, "I'm serious, Doctor." Here we can see Bill's right hand high on the gun's grip, with her left support hand quite a bit lower, and it's at the same height as her right sleeve at the wrist. Now if we look at the specific shot we're talking about, we really can only see Bill's right hand because the shot cuts off at the bottom of the screen, so we can't even see that sleeve or her left hand. It's offscreen.

Corrected entry: When Bill bursts into the toilets at the Sydney restaurant, the door is shown swinging inwards, and during her and the Doctor's subsequent conversation, the hinges are shown to make the door swing in. When Heather arrives and the two flee the toilets, as the Doctor yells for the restaurant patrons to get out, the door suddenly swings outward. (00:35:55)
Correction: Some doors swing both ways. It is common in restaurants.
Not only is this the door to a toilet, the hinges are visible on screen, and they are normal, one-way hinges, not the kind you'd find on restaurant doors.
The mistake is indeed wrong. The door hinge we see may appear like a normal hinge with knuckles and pin, but it's actually a double acting spring hinge that allows the door to swing in both directions. Also, there is no door knob hardware, only a swinging door push plate on the door. I've personally seen women's restrooms which have an outer swinging door with fully enclosed floor-to-ceiling inner cubicles (we see their "reflection" in the mirror) such as the ones shown.

Looking at the scene again, that would explain why the side of the hinge is visible in the shot where Heather bursts out of the bathroom. It's still a) not very clear on camera, and b) really weird to have that kind of door on a bathroom.
That's right, it's exactly the reason why we're able to see the barrel of this type of hinge when Heather opens the door outward. And I agree, I also think it's really weird to have that kind of a door on a bathroom. Go figure why some establishments have done that.

Corrected entry: Bill grabs an umbrella as a makeshift weapon before entering the bathroom of her flat. After she enters and finds the bathtub wet, the umbrella has vanished. (00:24:20)
Correction: We see the umbrella leaning against the towel rack at the wall beside the bathtub. Bill placed it there while offscreen at the start of the closeup of the tub drain, before her hand appears.
Rewatched the scene and spotted the reclusive brolly - you are, indeed, correct.

Corrected entry: When Bond is following Goldfinger, a 1964 Mustang pulls in behind his Aston Martin. The woman driving the Mustang is sitting on the right side driving, then she is sitting on the left.
Correction: The only shots in which we see Tilly driving on the "right side" is when Bond looks in the rearview mirror, and in the mirror's closeups we see Tilly driving in the reflection, and it's obviously backwards. In every other closeup and long shot of Tilly she is driving on the left side of her car.

Corrected entry: During the song 'You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!', when Peter Pan, Wendy, John, and Michael land on the big hand of Big Ben, the bell rings 4 times, although the hour hand is on the 3.
Correction: The short "hour" hand is actually at the eight when they land on the long minute hand, which then moves toward the three, and what you're hearing are the four quarter bells that each chime in sequence at every quarter of the hour, so four chimes are correctly heard.
When you were correcting me about the hand Peter Pan and the Darling children were on, I wanted to thank you when you told me about the hour hand. (I have to work on learning the time and some other math stuff, which even includes money and so on).
You are very sweet for thanking me! There are many people who can't exactly tell the time on analog clocks, because digital is so common now. When I was teaching that was one of the things I focused on. I even used an analog clock that ran backwards together with the regular analog clock to help strengthen their skills. Corrected entry: When Indy has crashed into the lion's house on the train, he takes the whip in his left hand. In the next shot after seeing the lion you can see the whip is in Indy's right hand just before he hits the lion and makes his chin bleed. (00:08:25)
Correction: The switching of hands does not occur in consecutive shots. In the first shot Indy takes hold of the whip as we hear the familiar music. The second shot is a closeup of the lion roaring, and it's not until the third shot we see the whip in Indy's right hand before he uses it for the first time. There was ample time for the whip to merely change hands, while he was offscreen.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)
Revealing mistake: After Poe's X-Wing is destroyed, when BB-8 leaves the village and rolls off note all the distinctive hills and sand dunes in front of BB-8. Later, when Rey hears BB-8 with Teedo and she rushes off note the sand dunes in front of her, but after she rescues BB-8 and walks in the opposite direction those same sand dunes are now in front of them, which were also the same sand dunes in front of BB-8 when he left the village the night before.
Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.
Suggested correction: BB-8 is heading towards a background at night, the other instances are all near where BB-8 is since they are all focused around him. Rey finds BB-8, only possible if she is near the same background. BB-8 was going towards that background so can only be closer to it than before. Same goes for Finn as they crashed near where BB-8 was, since they were looking for him. They are not the exact same locations but a couple of miles apart, which produces the same background.
When Rey rushes toward Teedo and then when she walks away in the opposite direction with BB-8 the very same sand dunes are still in front of her and BB-8. Those sand dunes are also the exact same sand dunes right in front of BB-8 when he left the village. The correction states "They are not the exact same locations but a couple of miles apart", but they are in fact the exact same sand dunes and hills, certainly not miles apart, and I do not mean the general horizon "which produces the same background" (screenshots available).

Corrected entry: When Jack fires his gun in the air to frighten the Futurekind, his arm is straight, raised above him. The camera cuts away, and then cuts back to a shot with Jack in it, where his arm is now suddenly bent. (00:09:50)
Correction: There's a shot facing the Futurekind mob inserted between the two shots with Jack, and in that moment Jack has ample time to merely lower his arm. No problem with continuity.

Corrected entry: In the last song/scene, as the leads take their places on the top rocks, Chad takes his place in the bottom left corner, and the mike stand wobbles. He stops the pole, but the mic falls off. In the next shot, everything is fine. (01:39:40)
Correction: This does not occur in consecutive shots. In the first shot the microphone falls from its stand, and we see Chad looking down toward the fallen mic just as he goes offscreen while the camera is panning from left to right. The second shot is a closeup of Taylor dancing, and it's not until the third shot we see the mic back on its stand. There was ample time for Chad to simply pick up the mic and place it back on the stand's clip, while he was offscreen.

Corrected entry: In the French custom post, when The Jackal opens his suitcase for searching it has one strap. It has two straps when he closes it.
Correction: The Jackal has two suitcases, one with two buckle straps and another with only one buckle strap. When the French customs officer starts searching through the first suitcase with one strap he finds the Old Spice bottles, then it cuts to the next shot as he's finished with the Jackal's luggage, and closes the second suitcase with two straps. It is completely unnecessary to see it onscreen as the officer searches through two filled suitcases.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)
Corrected entry: At the end of the movie Henry sees his father coming towards him with the Dutchman visible behind him. Its sails are completely down. The scene changes to Henry walking towards his father and then back to his father walking towards him. The Dutchman's sails are now secured up.
Correction: The first time Henry looks into his spyglass and spots the Dutchman we see many members of the Dutchman's crew aloft in the rigging lining the yards and furling its sails, and the second time Henry looks into the spyglass those sails are still being furled by the crew just as Will appears. Then five shots later, when Will joins Henry at the top of the hill we see the partially furled sails. No problem with continuity.

Corrected entry: After being loaded with wounded, an ambulance accelerates, turns left and moves out of sight. Immediately after there is the sound of a crash, and the ambulance is lying on its left side. Radar states that it turned too fast and rolled over...but in that case, it would be on its right side.
Correction: The ambulance driver was quickly heading for the next left turn on the road out of camp, but instead wound up driving into the sloped rocky ditch on his left, hence the vehicle rolled onto its left side. Nothing wrong with its depiction.

Corrected entry: In this episode, Sidney Freedman writes a letter to Sigmund Freud, detailing his experiences at the 4077. Freud died September 23, 1939. M*A*S*H is set during the Korean War, June 25, 1950 to July 27, 1953.
Correction: Yes, Sidney's addressing Sigmund Freud in his "letter" but it's not an actual letter he's writing, it's Sidney's therapeutic way of expressing and venting his own private thoughts and feelings regarding coping mechanisms to the founder of psychoanalysis, whom he greatly respected. Sidney knows that Sigmund Freud has been dead for over a decade, and BJ even commented to Sidney that writing a letter to Sigmund Freud is a little crazy, but Sidney's reply says it all, "who better than he would understand."

The Andy Griffith Show (1960)
Corrected entry: When Barney first falls down with the convict, you see his ticket book fly out of his hand and over the car. The next scene also shows he has nothing in his left hand. The final struggle scene shows the ticket book back in his left hand.
Correction: During this scene, in the first shot just as Barney falls to the ground his ticket book flies out of his hand toward the roof of the car offscreen. In the next shot we see Barney on the ground, and his ticket book is lying open on the ground behind him, near the back of the car. We can presume that in the moment the ticket book was offscreen it hit the car's surface and landed on the ground, which does not grate with continuity between the first two shots. Then it cuts to the State Police car pulling up in the third shot, and in the fourth shot we see Barney picking up the ticket book from the ground, while he's lying on the convict. This sequence of four shots does not pose a continuity problem.

Goldfinger (1964)
Continuity mistake: When Oddjob drives away from the golf course, Goldfinger is not in the back of the car for some reason, even though they show him in the car earlier. (00:32:00)

Suggested correction: Goldfinger is still in the car - he has sat back in his seat and the camera angle makes it look like he's vanished. The picture shown shows Goldfinger leaning forward to talk to Bond, then he sits back when the conversation finishes.
In this instance it does not have to do with camera angle. When Goldfinger gets in the car and the door is left open, we can see the seat's upright back portion where he is sitting in relation to the rear side windows, and there is not much space between them. Goldfinger is a rather rotund fellow, so even when he leans back in the seat we should still be able see him when looking through the right side of that double window, due to his stoutness. In a medium shot Goldfinger says goodbye to Bond, then it cuts to semi-closeups of Bond and Oddjob, so when we're back to another medium shot of the car, the actor was simply not in the car during the filming of these specific takes, for this medium shot. Note, after Oddjob crushes the golfball, in the next medium shot as the car begins to drive away, all the people who had been standing on the fairway in the background in previous shots have vanished (no time for them to have walked away).

Corrected entry: When Col. Potter is talking to Father Mulcahy about his son-in-law's rendezvous, Father Mulcahy says he has seen the 6th commandment take a beating, but "Thou shalt not commit adultery" is actually the 7th commandment.
Correction: Yes, according to Protestants (and others) it's the 7th commandment which states not to commit adultery, however, according to the Roman Catholic Church (and Lutheranism) it is indeed the 6th commandment just as Father Mulcahy asserts, and since Father Mulcahy is a devout Catholic military chaplain, his statement, "I've seen the 6th commandment take quite a beating," holds perfectly true for his character.

It Came from Outer Space (1953)
Corrected entry: An alien transforms into Russell Johnson with clothes on. Yet at various times through the movie, the aliens have to go to their victims home to get their clothes. I guess a naked Russell Johnson (the professor on Gilligan's Island) would have been too much for 1953 audiences. (The aliens in this movie were highly neurotic about their looks.)
Correction: Amusing entry but it's incorrect. The telephone linemen, Frank and George, are both wearing work coveralls over their regular clothes while working. When John climbs off the truck's ladder we see George remove his coveralls and then get into the truck carrying it. Later, the aliens we see in the guise of Frank and George are both wearing the work coveralls, while the real Frank and George are still wearing their regular clothes, which they had on under their coveralls.

Corrected entry: When Chandler is walking with the door you can see he is not wearing panties but boxers. (00:19:20)
Correction: When Ross and Joey are standing in the bathroom stalls looking into Chandler's stall, since Joey is going commando Chandler offers Ross $50 for his underpants just as the shocked man walks in on them. Even though Ross initially said no to giving Chandler his underpants, we do not hear Ross decline this very generous offer. So in the next shot it's been a little while, and not only do we see that shocked man already seated continuing his meal, we can safely presume the striped boxers that Chandler's wearing actually belong to Ross, who made an easy $50 to help Chandler out.
