Continuity mistake: When Captain Bellamy and his sailors stand on deck, looking at the flaming Tortuga, their positions differ between the shot facing them and the next shot, from behind. (01:07:10)

Continuity mistake: When the cannibal women throw fruit at Jack, the first fruit skewered is the papaya, which ends up near Jack's face, in the close-up. After Jack vaults to the other cliff-top, when the papaya slides towards his face, the fruit is completely different, and the position of its hole differs. Additionally, the watermelon also differs (note stripes) between shots, as do other skewered fruit. (00:41:10)

Continuity mistake: When the cannibal women throw fruit at Jack, the large papaya hits the pole's point and the end of the fruit actually smashes. However, in the next shot it slides across the pole with a perfect circular hole. (00:41:05)

Continuity mistake: When trying to flee, Norrington falls and drops his sword and the chest. As he crawls in the first shot, note the sword's hilt and particularly the hand guard, with its wide part facing up. In the next shot the direction of the hand guard has changed, with its wide part now facing the ground (this has nothing to do with camera angle). (01:58:45)

Continuity mistake: After Jack seasons himself, in the first shot as the cannibals carry him, the rope is wound around his body and ankles, with the excess rope in between that hangs over the pole from his right to his left. When he is placed over the kindling, that rope hangs over from his left to his right. Also seen when Jack tries to blow out the flame. (This has nothing to do with camera angle.) (00:35:30)

Continuity mistake: After Will slides down the sail, just as he grabs hold of the mast line, the cut sail is only tied down at its corners. After he puts the knife in his mouth, the sail is also tied down directly under the cut. (01:36:10)

Other mistake: The rope is wound round Jack's body and the pole at his back numerous times. When Shishka-Jack falls, the pole gets jammed between the cliffs, but the pole does not break and the rope does not tear. The rope that goes round the pole numerous times simply disappears, leaving the rope intact around only Jack's body in order for Jack to twirl and unravel as he falls. (00:39:00)

Continuity mistake: When Jack and Gibbs walk on the dock towards the Pearl, they pass a couple kissing, as Elizabeth calls out to Jack. In the following shot, that couple is much farther (about 10 ft) up the dock, away from the Pearl - note the other ship's exterior, behind them. (01:17:00)

Continuity mistake: At the edge of the cliff, in the first overhead shot, when the four men lift the coffin its "head" side is nearest the water. However, in the next shot the "foot" side is nearest, before they throw it in the water. (00:05:30)

Continuity mistake: In the close-up of Elizabeth, as she watches Jack sneak away in the long boat, there is no sign of either Marty or Cotton. In the next shot, when the Kraken causes the ship to shake, Cotton and Marty (who sits on the beam) suddenly appear. (02:06:30)

Continuity mistake: When Elizabeth walks over to the deck rail and notices Jack sneaking away in the long boat, her leather strap hangs from her left shoulder to her right hip, whereas in all other shots she wears it the opposite way. This is not a flipped shot - note Cotton's shirt tear. (02:06:25)

Continuity mistake: When Norrington, Jack and Will bang away at each other on the beach, in the shot facing Elizabeth as she puts her hat back on, behind her Ragetti runs ahead of Pintel (3-4 ft) as they steal the chest. Next shot, it is Pintel in the lead as they run off. (01:49:00)

Deliberate mistake: When Shishka-Jack falls, the rope is tied round his left ankle. When the pole gets stuck, in the second close-up of Jack spinning free the rope is actually tied round his right ankle (his spinning loose of the rope is also the opposite way). (00:42:00)

Continuity mistake: When Elizabeth, Will and the rest watch from the long boat, as the Kraken takes down the Pearl with Jack aboard, in the shot facing the Pearl Cotton sits directly behind Will, but in the shot facing the long boat Pintel sits behind Will. (02:14:55)

Revealing mistake: Will slides down the sail, aided by the knife. At the start of the next shot, when he grabs hold of the mast line, the cut in the sail runs the the bottom edge of the sail, yet, Will is actually seen falling from the top of this shot - way above the end of that knife cut. Continuity mistake: When Gary and Larry catch up with Bob, the trees and snow surrounding the two cars differ after the RV destroys the vehicles; also, note the tree tops. (01:31:50)

Visible crew/equipment: After the State Trooper stops the Munros, when Gary and Larry speak to Bob the reflector screen is clearly reflected in Larry's eyeglasses. (01:31:50)

Visible crew/equipment: After Bob urges Alpine not to merge, when Carl flips Todd there is a huge straight edge shadow where they stand, however, there is absolutely nothing near the seated people that would cause such a shadow - only the crew's equipment. Continuity mistake: When Bob speaks to the entire Alpine company, with the Gornickes watching, all their shadows move 180° to their right from the start of Bob's speech to Todd's flip. (01:26:45)

Audio problem: After reaching Alpine via the Gornicke bus, when Bob says, "Some of my behavior on this trip might be misconstrued as an insult," Bob's mouth/jaw does not match most of his words. (01:25:10)
