Chernobyl (2019)

Trivia: Despite the overall level of accuracy in the show, one deliberate choice was to use "comrade [surname]", rather than the full name as is typical in formal Russian address. It was felt it would be too distracting for viewers.

Grand Theft Auto V

Question: What is the name given to those cart things that can be driven around San Andreas? For a detailed description, the carts being referred to kind of look like a golf cart, but without the roof on it and they are only shown in San Andreas, and not shown in Los Santos.

Chosen answer: It is called a Civillian Caddy. Also the location being referred to is not San Andreas, but in fact Sandy Shores.

Ant-Man (2015)

Question: SPOILER: When Scott invades the helicopter to stop Cross, Cross appears in the Yellowjacket armour. The Yellowjacket armour before this was placed inside glass casing and was miniaturised. My question here is, how exactly did Cross get the Yellowjacket armour to human size before putting it on?

Chosen answer: The suit was built human-size and then shrunk using Pym particles. The same technology can also be used to grow objects. Cross was shown to have a hand-held device earlier in the film capable of shrinking, so he either used this device, or activated the suit's built-in growing/shrinking technology.

Better Call Saul (2015)

Answer: It is my opinion that you should absolutely watch Breaking Bad first. If you did not know, Better Call Saul takes place before the events of Breaking Bad. At the time I am posting this, BCS is mid-way through season 5, with season 6 on the way perhaps in a year. So if you binge Better Call Saul now, you would not be able to "flow" right into Breaking Bad. To me, it's better to watch in the order that they came out. Breaking Bad was a phenomenal show, and now watching Better Call Saul, it is fun to watch the events unfold and start to lead up to what we saw in BB. Enjoy.

Answer: Now that it's ended, this question can be fully answered. Better Call Saul includes events after the conclusion of Breaking Bad, as well as references to and descriptions of major events from the latter. Not only would Breaking Bad be spoiled for you by watching Better Call Saul first, but there's a lot that wouldn't be understood.

Chosen answer: So far the show has been about Saul's struggles as a lawyer long before the Breaking Bad timeline (Spoiler Alert: It starts out for the most part at a time when he didn't even go by the name Saul).

Bishop73

The Great Gatsby (2013)

Question: What sort of accent is Gatsby supposed to have? (00:29:55)

Chosen answer: This has been answered before. Gatsby grew up in a poor, mid-western family. He is a self-made millionaire (through illegal means) but pretends he comes from wealthy, upper-class society. He has adopted a fake posh accent to help support the illusion of his bogus background. It is how he believes well-bred people speak.

Alien (1979)

Question: When Ripley is climbing into the escape shuttle with Jones in the box, in the background is loads of fire being blasted. It's certainly not coming from Ripley's flamethrower. What's going on here?

Chosen answer: Ripley has initiated the destruct sequence and systems are failing and malfunctioning as the ship prepares to explode. The flames are mostly for visual effect, however, allowing the audience to see what is happening and to heighten the sense of drama and suspense.

Question: Is there any reason why the EPA couldn't just put the dome over the lake instead of the whole town? I mean, the only thing that actually is causing any pollution is from the lake.

Chosen answer: It's less about containing the pollution itself and more about destroying the kind of people who let it get that bad.

Greg Dwyer

Question: Why is Cargill so determined to keep the people of Springfield trapped in the dome?

Chosen answer: Because he's power hungry and doesn't like Homer wrecking things.

Greg Dwyer

Chosen answer: He "searched his feelings" as Vader instructed; he reached out with the Force and felt the truth of the statement.

Phixius

Answer: The vision Luke sees in the cave on Dagobah is a clue to this. Luke is realizing he has a lot more in common with Darth Vader than the idealized father he'd always imagined. When Vader tells him he's his father, Luke doesn't want to believe it, but he simply can't deny that it feels much more true that his father would be someone passionate and reckless like himself rather than someone who exemplifies a noble Jedi, which feels like an obvious myth in hindsight.

Man of Steel (2013)

Question: Why did Zod need Lois on the ship? At first, he only seemed interested in Kal-El.

Chosen answer: It's because Zod read Lois' story published by that weird internet guy. She knows Superman better then his own mother, so she could be a valuable source of information for Zod.
