Hook (1991)

Revealing mistake: During the pirate ship scene where Peter's kids are lifted in the net, the sea in the background is a blatant backdrop with a very obvious blue painting with zero detail.

Superman (1978)

Revealing mistake: When the helicopter gets jammed on the white railing at the ceiling, Lois is replaced by an obvious dummy that dangles back and forth with no control.

Revealing mistake: Elliot takes his dishes to the sink, opens the faucet and steam rises all over the kitchen. When the camera pulls back, one can notice that the huge cloud of steam is coming from somewhere along the window, not from the narrow stream of water from the faucet.

True Lies (1994)

Revealing mistake: When Arnold horseback rides towards the hotel, Tom Arnold's van skids and you can see that he is a stuntman with a very cheap latex mask to resemble Tom.

Revealing mistake: When Belle exits her house, the reflection on the window by the door shows a rectangular flat roofed building, nothing to do with the old gable roof we see in further shoots. In the making-of we are revealed that the prop building is in fact rectangular and flat, with a green screen on top to allow for the CGI.

Revealing mistake: When Nuclear Man destroys Metropolis he sends beams to make things explode, but there's a moment when there are no beams seen and shops explode for no reason at all.

Superman III (1983)

Revealing mistake: During the Pisa tower scenes, the sky is always the same, plus the balloons in the stall have the exact same position, revealing not only that the shot is a chroma, but that both scenes were shot the same day.

Ghost (1990)

Revealing mistake: When the movie starts, Carl and Sam exit the subway station. A few members of the public/extras/background can't help but stare at the camera during the time it pans past them, firstly the man at the back as they are arriving up from the stairs, then the man with a hat, then the truck unloader on the right of the screen before they look at the red car. They all either seem to be starting at the camera, or looking or for thier cues to start acting.

Rocky (1976)

Revealing mistake: When the first fight is about to begin, there are several shots of a crowded arena and people watching. The grainy and slightly blurry look of the film reveals they're stock images. The filming set had no budget to fill the place with people.

Rocky (1976)

Revealing mistake: When the movie begins with Rocky and Spider fighting, their punches miss each other by far, though each one reacts as if they were hit. It is so obvious that it's ridiculous.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom mistake picture

Revealing mistake: After Indy escapes from the conveyor belt, he runs on some suspended planks while being shot at. Watch the planks: There's black masking tape where the explosives are (which disappear in later shots). Furthermore, right before he takes out his whip, he grabs a railing where the bullet has just hit, and you can see that the black tape is dangling loose after the spark.

Superman II (1980)

Superman II mistake picture

Revealing mistake: In Houston, when a man is thrown through a truck, notice the ground he falls on: The sand is leveled higher than the rest of the road around, obviously to hide a landing mat. Furthermore, after the fall the man turns around and he's got a bulgy square on the back to help for a safe stunt.
