Obstruction of Justice - S4-E9

Continuity mistake: When Carol goes to get Doug to see the sickle-cell patient, the clock reads 3:50. The next few scenes include Rachel arriving at the hospital and being taken to the dentist and for a dual makeovers by Cynthia. When Mark is walking by the same clock with Herb the lawyer, it reads 2:30. He then says goodbye to Herb and his ex-wife arrives to pick up Rachel, who is now back in the ER with Cynthia. The clock times do not reflect the sequence of scenes.

Let the Games Begin - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: Carol is at her house with her mother, who makes 2 cups of coffee. She brings them to the table and Carol takes one but in the next shot, both mugs are still sitting on the table in the original position.

A Bloody Mess - S4-E17

Continuity mistake: Romano is standing outside an ER room watching through the glass. To his left, down the hall, we can see a woman pushing someone in a wheelchair. But when the shot goes to him entering the room, there's an extra behind him on the left pushing a large cart of supplies - there was nowhere for him to come from.

Shades of Gray - S4-E19

Continuity mistake: Doug goes into the ER room to respond to the boy, who's saying "go away." His mother has her arm around his head and is telling the drunk with his teeth out to go away. Then the shot changes and we see the boy's head, but no mother. A quick shot change and there she is again, cradling his head.

One More for the Road - S3-E22

Continuity mistake: In this episode you see Carol and Doug discussing Charlie over phoning and chart-reviewing. Carol is standing beside Doug. Suddenly somebody calls from behind the desk. It's Tommy, a "friend" of Charlie. When he's in the picture, you see Carol sitting in a chair, instead of standing. If she had moved to the chair, she must have done that SO fast, it's impossible.

The Long Way Around - S3-E15

Continuity mistake: Kerry follows Carol outside and as Carol is holding her gloved hands up in front of her Kerry asks her if she needs anything, and as she replies, "No thanks, I'm fine," her hands are suddenly in her pockets.

Lockdown - S8-E22

Deliberate mistake: When the two lawyers were wheeled in by ambulance riding on the same gurney entered the ER the male had a bandage on his foot because they had been walking on hot coals. The hospital staff smelled smoke coming from the bandage on the male lawyers foot. It burst into flames and Abby used a Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher. Something other than powder came out because the dry chemical powder would have made a large cloud of actor choking dust all over the set. The use of a C02 would have been a better choice. You would still get the fire fighting effect with out the mess.

Under Control - S6-E16

Continuity mistake: When Carter leans his crutches against the lockers in the lounge, we can see two pictures taped to his locker. However, after he picks his stuff up off the floor, the pictures have mysteriously disappeared.

Fire in the Belly - S2-E19

Continuity mistake: As Chloe is leaving the kitchen, there is a bowl to the right of the sink, but when the shot goes back to Susan, the bowl has mysteriously disappeared.

Truth & Consequences - S6-E5

Continuity mistake: Near the start of the show, Dr. Dave asks the patient Jesse how he's feeling and Jesse answers, "Not so well", and then begins throwing up. By the next shot, though, there is more vomit on his shirt than could have possibly got there in such a short time.

Leave It to Weaver - S6-E1

Continuity mistake: When Dr. Finch is talking to Jeanie about the AIDS patient, Jeanie's stethoscope goes from being fully visible over both lapels to being only visible on the right side - without her touching it.

Good Luck, Ruth Johnson - S5-E9

Continuity mistake: Carol is talking to Wilson in his room and she says, "I'm sad about what happened to Andy". As she says this, her arm is stretched out and her hand is on the bed railing. The next quick shot shows both her hands are holding his chart.

They Treat Horses, Don't They? - S5-E3

Continuity mistake: When Peter and Elizabeth are in the locker room having a serious talk, Peter's tying his tie - but when the shot is from behind his shoulder, his tie is completely undone. When the shot is on Elizabeth, it's partly tied. This continues for a few shots.

The Long Way Around - S3-E15

Plot hole: Carol and Duncan escape out the back of the shop - but there are no police waiting for them, which makes no sense at all. In reality, with such a situation, the police would have been waiting at the back door. There seems to be no one around at all, as they were able to dash through an apartment. When they finally do run into a cop, he automatically assumes that Carol is an innocent bystander, and not one of the robbers. He couldn't have known this, and in reality, a policeman wouldn't assume it.

Do One, Teach One, Kill One - S2-E3

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the show, Susan is holding baby Susie and talking to Chloe through the chain-link fence. In one shot we see the back of Susan and Susie's head, but as the shot switches to Susan's face, we see the back of the baby's head again, without her ever turning her head.

Bygones - S8-E17

Revealing mistake: Gallant is watching over some duck eggs that are about to hatch. At the end of the episode, two of the ducklings have hatched and Gallant is showing them to Carter and Susan. An unhatched egg falls out of Gallant's bundle and smashes on the street. The smashed egg has a large yellow yolk and clear fluid, like an egg in a grocery store. But an egg that close to hatching would have almost no yolk remaining and an almost fully developed duckling inside.

Robert Romano: The operation was a screaming success if your desired outcome was paralysis.

Trivia: Every episode has the patient list by the nurse's station. On the patient list, different names are mentioned, like Marguiles or Tierney. They put these names there as a spoof of the show.
