Factual error: Throughout this entire season, Bo and Luke left Hazzard to become Nascar drivers. This wouldn't be allowed as part of their probation legally prevents them from leaving Hazzard County.

The Dukes of Hazzard (1979)
Suggested correction: First off, in s01e01, the show starts where it had already been a year since Bo and Luke were put on probation. However, they were only given 5 years probation and this takes place in season 5. However, in the show they were allowed to leave Hazzard County with permission from a parole officer, so even assuming they're still on probation, they could have had permission without showing it on screen.

The Big Bang Theory (2007)
The Einstein Approximation - S3-E14
Character mistake: Sheldon is an extreme germophobe to the extent he doesn't even shake hands. There is no way he would be climbing around in a ball pit.
Suggested correction: If he was acting normally (for Sheldon), he wouldn't. However, Sheldon isn't acting as he normally would due to lack of sleep, and his obsession with solving a problem.
The severity of his phobia would not be minimized by lack of sleep.
Sheldon's mind is distracted by the problem he is trying to solve. He grabs other people's food, he allows Raj to touch his food, he handles dirty cutlery at the cheesecake factory, All characteristics that would be present if he was acting normally. The fact that he is in the ball pit is simply an extension.
Severe sleep deprivation could certainly affect how Sheldon reacts to phobias. The brain requires sleep to function and with a severe lack of sleep, the brain is no longer able to send the signals that alert Sheldon to his fear of germs.

Grange Hill (1978)
Factual error: Shannon asks Leah if she knows what happened to Tom Smith - she replies that Tom has gone to university, but in the previous series Tom was only in his first year of sixth form, and it takes at least two years in the sixth form to study for the A levels required for a university place.
Suggested correction: Although normally A-levels are taken after 2 years, it is possible (and often done) to study them in one year.

The Goldbergs (2013)
Just Say No - S2-E20
Factual error: In a previous episode, Adam's uncle gives him a power glove and they talk about "The Wizard" which came out in 1989. A few episodes later, they talk about Reagan getting reelected, which happened in 1984.
Suggested correction: The series is constantly going back and forth through the 80s (Adult Adam always refers to the year in question as 1980 - something in his narration) - episodes are set in earlier times than previous ones.

CSI: NY (2004)
Communication Breakdown - S5-E19
Character mistake: When Mac, Stella, and Danny are trying to determine where the fired bullet entered the train car, none of them are wearing rubber gloves. But even though they're not handling any evidence, they're still processing a crime scene. (00:05:00)
Suggested correction: Theoretically correct, but it can be argued that the only evidence present is the bullet (which has DNA and prints burnt off when fired) and the body (which can only be handled by the MEs) gloves are not required.
What utter rubbish. No CSI would enter a crime scene without first putting on latex gloves - it is a carved-in-stone rule.
Exactly. Since Mac, Stella and Danny were processing a crime scene, they would need to wear gloves because without them, they would have contaminated a crime scene by not only getting their fingerprints over everything but, if one of them got a cut or scrape, their DNA would also be thrown into the mix and any defense attorney can call them out on their carelessness and have any evidence thrown out.

The Goldbergs (2013)
Factual error: The Phillies were in the World series in 1980. Talk into remote controls did not come out till 1989. The party in the park the kids are dancing to the song "Tricky" by Run DMC which came out in 1986.
Suggested correction: The Phillies were in the 1983 World Series as well (which is the likely year as they lost), and the Goldbergs didn't have a talk in remote - the kids said they had just to wind up their father.

Grange Hill (1978)
Factual error: On the coach when the camera is on Miss Booth you can see out the window a road sign saying 5 miles to Hatfield and 15 miles to Stevenage. Grange Hill school is set in North London and they are on their way to the Field Trip on the Isle of Wight via Portsmouth ferry terminal - the coach is heading the wrong way as both these towns are in Hertfordshire, which is north of London, and Portsmouth is on the south coast of England.
Suggested correction: Correct in theory, but in a large, densely populated urban area it would make sense to go towards the faster motorways which, depending on where in North London, would be the Northbound M1 and M25 (the latter goes round Greater London) than go completely in the right direction which would take longer as it means going 10 miles through urban areas and thus take a lot longer.

Animal House (1978)
Factual error: In the scene with the disciplinary meeting, the chalkboard says "Pan-Hellenic Disciplinary Council." National Pan-Hellenic Council is the governing body for sororities, not fraternities. Fraternity disciplinary hearings would be handled by either the Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC), or the school's Office of Student Conduct, in conjunction with the Director of Greek Affairs. Further to this error is that the rest of the chalkboard writing pertains to the meeting being held at that time, and Greg Marmalard calls the meeting of the "Disciplinary Council" to order. (01:01:25)
Suggested correction: Although correct the National Pan-Hellenic Council wouldn't be involved - it actually represents African American fraternities and sororities.

Agatha Christie's Poirot (1989)
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd - S7-E1
Factual error: A few drops of acid are dropped on a penny and the liquid bubbles (colorless liquid) as the acid eats its way through the penny. The penny is mostly copper. Any acid that can react with a copper will also produce a bright green to bright blue solution of dissolved copper, which is not the color seen. (00:05:20)
Suggested correction: Not necessarily. It depends on the acid and its strength. A weak acid may only oxidise copper to a monovalent state (Copper (I)) (which is colourless) rather than its divalent (Copper (II)) state which produces the blue solution.

Red Dwarf (1988)
Plot hole: Cat wasn't manufactured by the Jupiter Mining Corporation and had no connection with them, being born three million years or so after they lost control of Red Dwarf. The takeover by M-Corp would mean nothing to him. Why, then, does he become invisible to Lister?
Suggested correction: Cat was a descendant of the cat Lister brought aboard Red Dwarf. Would it be possible that the new owners might have stricter security controls, and Lister was sent to Stasis for a different reason?
Inventing Deux ex machina explanations for a plot hole doesn't make it any less of a plot hole. M-Corp erases all of the Jupiter Mining Corporation's equipment, personnel and infrastructure from Lister's life. In no way is Cat a part of that. He has no connection at all to the Jupiter Mining Corporation, and until he meets him in Episode 1 no connection to Lister, either.
If M-Corp only erased JMC equipment from Lister's life, then Kryten, who belongs to DivaDroid and not the JMC, wouldn't have disappeared either. He disappears as he doesn't belong to M-Corp, not because he belongs to the JMC. Cat has no connection to M-Corp, as he wasn't a part of the JMC (as you pointed out), and is therefore erased for Lister.

Mission: Impossible (1996)
Factual error: In the scene of the eurotunnel train the ticket collector is wearing a 70s British Rail uniform This was the national railway company for Great Britain but is now defunct due to privatisation in the 90s.
Suggested correction: At the time of filming, British Rail would still have existed as it was only being dismantled in the mid 90s. However, I think Eurostar would provide their staff with different uniforms.

Bottom (1991)
Character mistake: Eddie, Spudgun and Dave Hedgehog all appear worried at the fact that the devil takes "virgin's blood." However, it is apparent later in the episode that the 'devil' is in fact Dave Hedgehog's daughter, meaning he isn't a virgin.
Suggested correction: Also, Eddie previously slept with the Third Viscountess of Moldavia when Richie's back alley kidney donation backfired and he collapsed, so he wasn't a virgin either, but reacted as though he was.
Although theoretically correct, bear in mind that neither Eddie or Dave Hedgehog aren't particularly bright, and likely forgot they weren't virgins.
Hedgehog's daughter could have been adopted.

Private Parts (1997)
Corrected entry: In a scene that takes place in 1979, a woman takes off her dress to reveal that she's wearing a thong. But thongs weren't worn as underwear by American women until the 1990's.
Correction: Thongs did exist in the late 70s, but were more associated with adult entertainments (e.g. strip clubs, adult movies) at the time. As the woman in question is a porn actress, she may be used to wearing them all the time.

Clerks 2 (2006)
Corrected entry: For people who have seen Clerks 2 and Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back: In Clerks 2, toward the end in the jail cell, Jay and Silent Bob make a deal with Dante and Randal that Jay and Silent Bob can hang out in front of the store in return for them giving Randal and Dante money to buy it, and they couldn't call the cops. Toward the beginning of Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back, Randal is complaining about them and decides to call the cops, breaking the original promise.
Correction: The film is set AFTER Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and anyone who has seen both Clerks films realises that Randal does what he feels like, regardless of any promises.

Ugly Betty (2006)
Corrected entry: In the second episode of season 2, Amanda tricks Bradford into giving her his hair for DNA samples. However, she goes in with a buzz clipper, which only trims the hair and DNA is only available in the root of the hair, so she couldn't have gotten DNA from him.
Correction: You CAN use hairs for DNA-testing, but it will only be mitochondrial DNA (DNA inherited from the mother) so it won't be much good.

The Russians Are Coming - S1-E6
Corrected entry: In the scene where Grandad is talking to Del about going to war, he refers to his brother as George. But after Grandad has died, his brother turns out to be called, as we all know, Uncle Albert.
Correction: George was another brother of Grandad's, and was also actually mentioned again in Uncle Albert's first episode.
Correction: We don't know how many brothers he has.

Beerfest (2006)
Corrected entry: In the beginning after the guy's quarter bounces into the vase, the quarter is floating on top of the foam, but quarters are too heavy to float on foam.
Correction: The quarter may just sink slowly (i.e. appear to float) if the foam is quite thick.

Days of Our Lives (1965)
Corrected entry: In October of 2004, Shawn had brain surgery after a severe motorcycle accident. However, his full head of thick hair was untouched. In actuality, it would have to have been extensively shaved in order for brain surgery to be performed.
Correction: Not necessarily. My sister had brain surgery about 10 years ago, and she only had a small area shaved (the area where surgery was required).

Mike Bassett: England Manager (2001)
Corrected entry: When Mike Bassett is playing in goal, he tries to kick the ball away after a backpass but misses it. In those days (seventies or even eighties) the keeper would have just picked the ball up. The no back-pass rule didn't come into play until 1992.
Correction: Perhaps he chose to kick it rather than pick it up. Just because you were allowed to pick the ball up doesn't mean you had to.

Casino Royale (2006)
Corrected entry: The license plates of the cars in Montenegro have the old Yugoslav flag on them, instead of the Montenegrin one.
Correction: Yugoslav style licence plates were valid and issued at least until 2008.
Correction: Depending on when this scene was filmed, it may still have been part of Serbia - Montonegro only voted for independence in early 2006.
