Continuity mistake: When Jack gives Sawyer the glasses, he walks off and Sawyer is looking up to Jack. When the shot changes, he is now looking down at the ground. (00:29:10)
Continuity mistake: Boone explains who Terresa was and he has a bag strap across his chest. (The strap is the same colour as his shirt but is distinguishable by the lack of wrinkles in his shirt.) During camera changes, this bag strap disappears without him removing it. (00:25:00)
Continuity mistake: When telling Boone about being in a wheelchair on the flight, John is leaning against a tree with his backpack off. The shot changes and now his backpack is back on. (00:23:10)
Continuity mistake: When Sawyer says to Sun about lying, his hair is windswept. When the shot changes it's hanging freely. (00:27:50)
Continuity mistake: In the flashback, we see Jin and Sun having a meal when Jin gets a phone call. When the phone rings, the position of Sun's chopsticks changes depending on the angle. (00:20:15)
Continuity mistake: When Jack speaks to Michael and Jin, as they build the raft, and then when he walks up the beach and inquires about Sawyer's trouble with his head, the backpack that Jack carries on his back is nylon, black/green with white trim. Yet, when Sawyer asks, "Sensitivity to light, that bad?" the backpack is suddenly transformed into solid black leather, of an entirely different style. Then, in following shots it jumps back and forth. (00:16:40)
Visible crew/equipment: When Hurley is at the new house, after his mom hurts her ankle, he reaches into the car window to get the cell phone. When he begins to dial, the cameraman's arm moving about is reflected in the back chrome of the side view mirror. (00:12:10)
Tabula Rasa - S1-E3
Continuity mistake: When Ray's pickup truck swerves off the road, it flips and the tailgate completely breaks off, yet in the following shots the bright red tailgate remains intact. (00:30:45)
Continuity mistake: In numerous shots of individual characters, while on the island, the sweat stains on their clothing significantly and repeatedly change, or disappear and reappear between shots.
Continuity mistake: When Kate and Sawyer start arguing, Sawyer's hair changes back and forth between shots from being parted to combed back.
Tabula Rasa - S1-E3
Deliberate mistake: As Ray drives the pickup truck, an oncoming vehicle beeps and the marshal heads behind Ray's pickup. In the shot through the cab's rear window facing the bed, as the marshal pulls behind, the bed's side wall interior is seen (note the metal loop tie down on top) and the entire tailgate is gone; yet the tailgate is intact later, when the pickup flips over. The tailgate was removed for the shot to allow visibility of the marshal's vehicle.
Tabula Rasa - S1-E3
Continuity mistake: When the marshal and Ray drive their vehicles down the long road, the endless line of telephone poles are on their left as they drive, with barren land on their right. However, when they pass the third vehicle the poles are on their right and then repeatedly change sides in the following shots. (This has nothing to do with camera angles.) (00:30:10)
House of the Rising Sun - S1-E6
Visible crew/equipment: While Jin is cuffed to the wreckage, Sun points to her wrist and explains in Korean, but Sayid shouts, "The cuffs stay on!" At the start of the next shot, a crewmember's arm is seen holding the reflector screen to Sawyer's left, as he makes a sarcastic comment. (00:09:30)
Chosen answer: None of the main characters died in the plane crash. Many died on the island after the crash (Jack, Charlie, Sun, Jin, Daniel, Juliet, others), some lived on the island for an apparently long time after the crash (Hurley, Ben, Bernard, Rose) but some lived lives off the island after the crash (Sawyer, Kate, Claire, Miles, Aplert, and Lapidus). Remember that Christian tells Jack that "time has no meaning here," (in Purgatory). When everyone meets at the church, they are at the end of their lives however long that may have been and will now "move on" together. They look like they did on the island because that is the way they best remember each other.
Guy
That has to be the clearest explanation of the ending I've ever read.
