IPromote Techfoots - S1-E18

Continuity mistake: Sam hires a personal chef, Sonia. When Carly, Sam and Freddie are sitting at the table and Spencer is talking to them, Sonia takes the blueberry muffins out of the oven and puts her oven mitts down. Next, Spencer starts walking away. Then Sonia is putting down her oven mitts again. There is no way she could pick up and put down her oven mitts that fast. (00:13:15)

Other mistake: The "Fan of Hammers" has all the hammers pointed the same way. But when the hammer goes into the wall, it goes in backwards. It is also there through all the rest of the shows and even in season two, where in "iKiss" it has a black handle. (00:02:35)

Suggested correction: It is plugged in, but the cord runs from Spencer's head under his shirt and meets the iPod near where Spencer's green short sleeve shirt meets his long sleeve white sleeve shirt. Only a very short bit of the cord appears from under Spencer's sleeve to the iPod strapped to his arm.

IWant a World Record - S1-E10

Continuity mistake: Carly and Sam stick their heads in buckets of water to stay awake. Their heads and clothes are wet during the whole scene, but when the show comes back from commercial, their hair and clothes are completely dry.

INevel - S1-E6

Continuity mistake: Nevel gets some tapenade on his face, but the amount isn't consistent. When he looks at Spencer you can see there is more on his face.

ICarly Saves TV - S1-E23

Other mistake: When Carly and Sam are pumping the watermelon full of air, one shot zooms in on Carly's finger as she hits the on-switch. The device is turned off as she removes her finger. (00:01:32)

IPilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: During Sam and Freddie's first interaction, Sam can be seen holding a coffee cup when she enters the room. For the first half of the conversation the cup is plain white, but as the camera returns to Sam, and she says, "You mean I can't play with the white balance on your super-dee duper-ee camcorder?" A green logo on the cup is plainly visible.

Season 1 generally

Continuity mistake: In episode 3 of Season 1 we see Sam smashing the locker next to Carly's as she thinks it is hers. Gibby comes up to her and says that it's his locker and hers is the one on the right - which she promptly unlocks. However, in the next episode (ILike Jake) the start of the episode features a gag where Sam has traded lockers with Arthur Gradstein, to be next to Carly's locker as her locker is in between two sweaty aggressive football players, however in the previous episode she was seen unlocking the same locker that she apparently just traded with Arthur, after smashing Gibby's locker that is in the middle to pieces.

Trivia: In the episode when Carly learns of Freddie's and Sam's kiss. In the beginning of the episode, Carly and Sam talk about how kids don't eat their vegetables, then take out some squash. Little known fact, squash is actually a fruit.

Show generally

Question: I need someone from across the pond to help settle an argument between me and my wife. In the episode "i Rock the Vote", Wade Collins repeatedly uses the term "hob knocker." My kids asked, "What's a 'hob knocker'?" I said that it was something they made up that sounds somewhat British, probably insulting, and possibly vulgar. My wife insists that she has heard it somewhere else. So, for the record, what, if anything, does "hob knocker" mean?

Answer: In direction translation it means 'Mischievous Spirit'. 'Hob' as in HobGoblin means clown or prankster, and 'Knocker' was an old age term for Poltergeists in mines. Miners would often complain of hearing knocking sounds down mines when there was no-one else down there, hence 'Knocker'. It's not a regular English expression though.
