Robocop 2 (1990)

Corrected entry: When Robocop gets cut up, the kid says 'I've heard he's got a brain. I want to see it'. They then just cut his limbs off and return him to the cops. There doesn't seem to be any reason at all not to kill him, and of course he then returns and ruins all their plans. Sure, it furthers the plot, but they could have just scrapped that line and it wouldn't have been a problem.

Jon Sandys

Correction: The kid does get Robocop's helmet off, revealing the mass of lights and circuitry beneath that could be considered his "brain". Tearing him into scrap metal fulfilled their needs; they never said anything about killing him. Not tearing him apart any further was a character decision.

Bruce Almighty (2003)

Correction: This is a vague coincidence between two movies, not trivia.

Alias (2001)

Snowman - S1-E19

Corrected entry: When taking information from the server, they're warned not to touch it as it's alarmed, so they have to use a wireless connection. However, when the rope supporting Sydney gives way, she reaches out and holds herself up on the server for a split second before the shot cuts and she's hauled to safety, but nothing happens.

Jon Sandys

Correction: The server may have been "alarmed" in a different sense to alarms screaming - the laptop got "pulsed", which could have been a part of the alarm response, plus, the negative noise gadgets Marshall gave them would have cancelled any audible alarm that may have been going off - hence why no-one ran in when the alarm sounded.

Saw II (2005)

Corrected entry: Towards the end, as the cop moves through the house and sees the door in the floor by the bodies, you can see a full syringe on the floor. Where did this come from? At no point did anyone in that room get hold of a syringe, and even if they had, they'd have injected themselves with it. It can't have been used for anything, as it's full.

Jon Sandys

Correction: When detective Matthews goes through the room Amanda had gone. Amanda we find out had been working for jigsaw so would have known the combination to the safe. Since we have no idea how many antidotes are in the safe it could be that the one on the floor was one that fell out of the safe when Amanda is leaving.

Michael Clayton (2007)

Corrected entry: At the start, when Michael's looking at the horses, we see his car behind him on the road, with the exhaust visible. Exhaust's only visible when the engine's cold (ie. if the car was started just before the cameras rolled) - he's been driving for a while, so nothing should be seen.

Jon Sandys

Correction: Completely untrue. A car's exhaust will be seen whether the engine is cold or warm, if the air temperature is humid and cool to cold. Around freezing exhaust will be constantly seen, and even a little above freezing temperatures, exhaust will be seen if the humidity is right. It's got nothing to do with the engine being cold or not.

The Holiday (2006)

Correction: "Little Britain" is also shown in the UK on UKTV, a satelite channel which does have commercial breaks.

Grey's Anatomy (2005)

The Name of the Game - S2-E23

Corrected entry: Denny and Izzy are playing Scrabble - he puts down a word, announcing "triple word score", but his word's part-way into the board, not touching any corners. All the triple word score squares in Scrabble are on the corners.

Jon Sandys

Correction: There are eight, not four, triple word score boxes on a Scrabble board. There is one in each corner and one at the halfway point on each side. It is one of these that Denny is using.

Daredevil (2003)

Correction: The fight started on top of an apartment building, note the clothesline, it's reasonable to assume that three people jumping around and breaking windows at night would make enough noise to get the police called on them by the tenants of the building.

Corrected entry: Slightly odd one - at the start when the girls are being introduced, we see Lucy Liu doing some gymnastics. All the judges hold up a "10" card each, but look at the one second from the left - the 10 disappears from it after a few frames, for no good reason that I can work out.

Jon Sandys

Correction: The card is reflecting a light, so the reflective 10 card gleams pure white. The ten does not just "dissapear."

Borat (2006)

Corrected entry: This is meant to be a documentary, and only one camera operator is ever referred to. However, there are multiple incidences where two cameras are clearly being used - for example, we'll see Borat running towards the van, then we'll suddenly be inside the van seeing him get in too and speed away, with no sign of a camera behind him. Even if they were using two cameras, the second one would be in shot.

Jon Sandys

Correction: This is NOT meant to be a documentary, rather a MOCKumentary. The whole movie is shot as if it's a documentary, but that is part of the comedy. Besides, even in a real documentary, multiple camera angles are used, as well as scenes not meant to be filmed live are pre-recorded, and acting used to move the story along. Real footage is also intermixed with acted footage in editing to give the movie a "feel" and to cut out extraneous footage.

X-Men 3 (2006)

Corrected entry: During the final battle, Magneto pulls cars up from the bridge behind him and catapults them onto the island. However, in later wide shots we can see behind him and the bridge is still jammed solid with vehicles.

Jon Sandys

Correction: It would be a good idea for him to constantly drag more cars closer to him, whilst fire others, so he'd have a ready supply "car-tillary", for later use.

Starsky & Hutch (2004)

Corrected entry: The waitress at Reese Feldman's (played by Vince Vaughn) gala at the end, who Starsky keeps telling to "do it" was also the waitress near the start of "Swingers," who Vaughn' character gave 50 cents to.

Jon Sandys

Correction: Nope. Those are two different people. The waitress Vaughn gives 50 cents to is the same waitress him and Favreau meet at the bar later. She is not the same person as the waitress from Starsky & Hutch.

Corrected entry: Near the start, as Anakin and the politicians start walking away, Jar-Jar says "excuse me" to a large blue creature next to him. In the next, wider shot, there's now another creature between them.

Jon Sandys

Correction: There is no creature between Jar-Jar and the large blue creature. In the tight shot Jar-Jar and the blue creature are standing side by side. As they start to walk, Jar-Jar walks slower than the blue creature so in the wide shot he's slightly behind it, but at no point is there a creature between them.

Friends (1994)

Correction: That was in the first episode. Joey has a playboy image so Chandler probably didn't even know or ask. It's highly unlikely that Joey was with only one girl for those three years, so Chandler's point would still be valid.

Alien 3 (1992)

Corrected entry: They try to kill the alien by covering it in molten lead. Lead is one of the heaviest elements we know about. Unless the alien and the guy it was eviscerating were made of a denser material than lead (unlikely, since we see it cling to flimsy ceilings etc) both the alien and its prey would have bubbled to the top of the lead, much as a balloon would rise to the surface in a swimming pool.

Jon Sandys

Correction: There are several things wrong with this: (1) the lead was literally burning through their flesh, and considering the temperature of molten lead (327.5 °C, 600.65 °K, 621.5 °F) would have happened extremely quickly, (2) in order for something to float, the buoyant force has to overcome the viscosity of the liquid, and even molten lead has a high viscosity, (3) the volume of lead could compress the material of the bodies to such a density that it was not buoyant.

U Turn (1997)

Corrected entry: When Bobby Cooper comes back to Grace McKenna's house near the start, he puts his bag on the side. They're eventually disturbed by Jake McKenna, Cooper gets punched in the face and legs it, leaving his bag in the house. We then see him walking along the road back to town with his bag, which he's magically got back.

Jon Sandys

Correction: This may have been corrected on DVD/VHS, because Bobby is about to leave because he is sick of Grace playing games. He picks his bag up from the side, then is about to leave, then he suddenly drops his bag by the door, and runs over to Grace and kisses her. Jake then enters, and Bobby is hit. He then walks out of the room, and it cuts to Jake hugging Grace. It then cuts back to Bobby slinging the bag over his shoulder and leaving, so he doesn't leave without the bag.

Friends (1994)

Correction: According to Martha Kauffman, Ross and Rachel were able to cover the pen marks with makeup at that point, as it had begun to wear off anyway.

That's just not right, though. The makeup stays on their faces all evening, and it's fully intact when they wake up the next morning. Then they go to breakfast and it's gone. An hour or two wouldn't have made the difference that 12+ hours didn't.

Corrected entry: After drinking the polyjuice potion, Ron and Hermione both dive into cubicles - all the doors are open before they go in. Harry then changes while looking in the mirror, but when we see the stall doors again, three are closed. (01:19:45 - 01:20:50)

Jon Sandys

Correction: The first cubicle door is closed the entire time. When Hermione says, "Cheers", the closed door is visible between Ron and Harry. Ron runs into the second cubicle and Hermione runs into the third - which is Moaning Myrtle's cubicle, hence three doors shut. (Interesting fact to note - that first cubicle door is also closed behind Ron when Hermione brews the potion while she sits on the floor.)

Friends (1994)

Correction: In the first shot it is not clear that Noah Wyle's head is in the way. If George Clooney passed the phone straight to Monica then he would hit him. In the next shot it is clear that he passes the phone while avoiding him which is why he appears initially to be passing it to Rachel.
