Sin City

The movie consists of three stories; The Hard Goodbye, The Big Fat Kill and That Yellow Bastard. In 'The Hard Goodbye', Marv(Mickey Rourke) meets a girl named Goldie(Jaime King) one night, and made love. The next day, Goldie was found dead next to him and naturally Marv gets framed for the kill. Marv sets off to find the truth by looking in all the right places and killing all the right people.

In 'The Big Fat Kill', Dwight(Clive Owen) finds out about his girlfriend Shellie(Brittany Murphy)'s ex-boyfriend, Jackie Boy(Benicio Del Toro). Dwight knows Jackie Boy's going to give trouble to the Old Town girls so he follows Jackie Boy there. In Old Town, the girls(prostitutes) lead by Gail(Rosario Dawson) killed Jackie Boy for causing trouble all this time, only to find out later that Jackie Boy is a cop. If the cops find out about the death of Jackie Boy, the truce between Old Town and the cops will be shattered and Old Town will be filled with dead prostitutes. Dwight, Gail and the girls set out to make sure the news doesn't spread out.

In 'That Yellow Bastard', Hartigan(Bruce Willis) is a 60-year old cop who's on his last assignment before his retirement: 11 year old Nancy Callahan is kidnapped and going to be raped by pedophile, Roark Jr.(Nick Stahl). Hartigan was stopped in his tracks and was shot down. He was prisoned and 8 years later Hartigan tries to track down the rapist who's now The Yellow Bastard and meets with the 19-year old Nancy Callahan(Jessica Alba) on the way.

Factual error: When Marv is talking with the Priest in the confessional, he cocks the hammer of his pistol as a means of interrogation. But in the next shot, the pistol is uncocked, without sufficient time for this to occur. In fact, the pistol is uncocked even when Marv shoots him. This cannot happen, since his pistol is a standard 1911 .45, which requires the hammer to be cocked in order to fire.

Marv: I don't know why you died, Goldie. I don't know why and I don't know how. I never even met you before tonight. But you were a friend and more when I needed one. And when I find out who did it, it won't be quick and quiet like it was with you. It'll be loud and nasty - my kind of kill. And when his eyes go dead, the hell I send him to will seem like heaven after what I've done to him. I love you, Goldie.

Trivia: When Hartigan picks up the book of matches for the bar that Nancy works in, it is the cover to the Sin City Trade "Booze, Broads & Bullets."

More trivia for Sin City

Answer: Not much is given on Miho's story in the graphic novel. Some is given in the story "A Dame to Kill For" where Dwight explains he saved her life once. Frank Miller in the extended cut DVD commentary stated she was a demon, but that is never mentioned in the story.
