Fantasia

Other mistake: In the intro to the Pastoral Symphony, the narrator identifies the deity who cloaks the world with Night to be Morpheus, who is the Greek god of sleep and dreams. However, the character in the animation is fairly obviously female, with long hair, eye shadow, and lipstick. My theory is that the character was intended by the art team to be Nyx, the Greek goddess of Night. Night would be a more likely candidate to be making it nighttime across the world, while Morpheus would be more likely to put people to sleep or send them dreams.

Continuity mistake: When Mickey walks down the stairs from the fountain, he walks down twelve steps. Later, when he tries in vain to stop the enchanted broom from coming down these stairs, there are at least fifteen steps.

Continuity mistake: When Mickey and the broom come to the fountain for the first time, the angle of water flowing into the fountain changes between shots.

Continuity mistake: When the T-Rex roars after killing the Stegosaurus, between shots his mouth goes form being nearly closed to wide open.

Continuity mistake: When the camera zooms in on the tree in the graveyard, the angle of the cross underneath it changes between shots.

Continuity mistake: When the young Pegasus jump into the water the pink jumps in and comes back up as pink. But blue jumps in next and re-emerges orange. After which orange jumps in and re-emerges blue.

Continuity mistake: The goat in the devil's hand changes from black to blue between shots.

Continuity mistake: The pots and items near the door change position, location, and form between the time when Mickey leads the broom up the stairs for the second time and when he comes back down again.

Continuity mistake: When the enchanted broom dumps its barrels into the fountain for the first time, the water level of the fountain decreases between shots.

Continuity mistake: At the start of the Sorcerer's Apprentice scene, the moon on the wizard's hat goes from being next to the star on the left of it, to over it.

Factual error: The famous battle between Stegosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Rex (which is incorrectly depicted as having three claws) never took place: Stegosaurus was extinct before Tyrannosaurus evolved. (Stegosaurus lived in the Jurassic, Tyrannosaurus in the Cretaceous.)

Continuity mistake: When the pterodactyls are shown looking over the edge of the cliff, between shots more of them appear out of nowhere.

Continuity mistake: When Mickey sits down in his chair and puts his feet on the table, the table moves closer to the chair and his feet go from the far side of the table to the middle, all between shots.

Continuity mistake: The wizard places his hat with the crescent moon facing the front of the table. Then when Mickey grabs it, it faces the back of the table.

Continuity mistake: When the male and female centaurs are walking together the bush beside them moves with them for about a second.

Continuity mistake: When Mickey chops the broom to pieces, he places the axe next to it on the ground. Then in the next shot of the splinters, the axe is gone.

Continuity mistake: When the Stegosaurus and the T-Rex lean into each other, between shots they move further apart.

Continuity mistake: In the Sorcerer's Apprentice piece, Mickey starts waving his hands and fingers at a broom to make it come to life. In one shot, you can see that his sleeves slide forward and cover his hands. In the next shot, the shadow of his hands on the wall shows that his sleeves are on his wrists again and his fingers are waving fine. There was no time between shots for this to have happened.

Trivia: In the original version of the film (the one submitted to the board for its rating determination) contained several scenes of exposed female breasts. The female centaurs were all completely nude from the waist up. After Disney was told the film would not receive a "G" rating as it was, they went through and literally drew the leis right over the centaurs' breasts.
