The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
Movie Quote Quiz

Juliet Ashton: Do you suppose it's possible for us to already belong to someone before we've met them?

Sidney Stark: The Guernsey literary and potato-peel pie society. Crikey, that's quite a mouthful.

Audience Member #1: Have you always wanted to be a writer?
Juliet Ashton: Always, yes. It's a perfect job. Sitting indoors, and always near a teapot.

Amelia Maugery: I've seen things I never thought could happen happen.

Isola Pribby: I'm only beautiful on the inside. You're beautiful on the outside as well, men do like that.
Juliet Ashton: Do you not mind being alone?
Isola Pribby: I suppose, sometimes. But then I think how much sweeter it will be when my Heathcliff finally shows himself and how glad I'll be that I decided to wait for him.

Factual error: The plane used in the film to take Juliet back to London towards the end of the film is a replica of a Dakota C-47. She is painted with black and white "invasion stripes" on both the upper and lower surfaces of the wings - approved in May these were only widely put into use for D-Day in June 1944. After one month the upper surface stripes were ordered removed, and by the end of 1944 they were ordered completely removed. By 1946 when the film is set they would have been long gone from any serving aircraft still flying.
