Emergency!

Tee Vee - S5-E11

Visible crew/equipment: After the two guys fill the fish tank with water, when they walk out of Brackett's office Dixie walks in, and as she comments that the tank is classy, the actor's tape mark is visible at her feet, in front of Brackett's desk.

Other mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to the landslide, the engine company get into their turnouts and roll out, but in the next exterior shot as the engine drives past the camera, not only are the guys not in their turnouts, it's too obvious that none are 51's guys, and the one in Chet's jumpseat even leans forward. Presumably they're 127's guys. Also the light bar on the squad and the rotating light on the truck are not on.

Other mistake: When Station 51 is on scene at the landslide, there's a dresser on the grass in front of the house, and when the explosion occurs due to the broken gas main, in the closeups as Johnny dives to the ground there's what looks like a can of gasoline (used for the stunt perhaps) atop that dresser that wasn't there before, and it's also not in the wide shots as Johnny dives down.

Other mistake: After Brackett tries unsuccessfully to get O'Brien on the line to ask about the fish tank, it cuts to an exterior shot of Station 51, and we hear the dispatcher say, "All units responding with Engine 3 cancel," but subtitles read, "Four units with Engine 3 cancelled." Subtitles from Universal Studios 2010 DVD.

Other mistake: When the man injured in the manhole is brought to treatment 6, Early tells Roy to patch him up for an EKG, but the subtitles read, "Patch one from the EKG," and then Early tells the x-ray technician to do a skull and chest series, but the subtitles read, "Skull and chest searches." Subtitles from Universal Studios 2010 DVD.

Continuity mistake: When the guy who was injured in the manhole is brought into the ER, Dix tells them to bring him to treatment 6 (which is around the corner from the other treatment rooms, and has no color lines that run past its door), then we see him wheeled into treatment 6 in the shot from the hallway. However, in the next shot from inside the treatment room we can see they're not in treatment 6, but actually in treatment 1, note the red, green, and yellow lines on the hallway floor in front of its doorway, and treatment 6 has no color lines that run past its doorway.

Continuity mistake: When the TV catches fire in the kitchen, Captain Stanley unplugs it, and when it cuts to Roy running into the kitchen with the fire extinguisher, he passes Marco, who just ran into the apparatus bay. All of this while we hear Cap's voice telling Marco, who already ran out, to get the asbestos blanket. Then, in the next shot, Marco is still standing behind Captain Stanley in the kitchen.

Continuity mistake: Immediately before the man rescued from the sewer fire is brought into the hospital, the shot shows squad 51 and two ambulances in all three spots in the ambulance bay, however neither ambulance is the big box Mayfair type that was at the rescue scene. (00:11:20)

Character mistake: When the guy who was injured in the manhole is brought to treatment 6, he's transferred onto the ER's gurney and we see Carol taking his pulse, but then she tells Early, "Pulse 120, respiration 24," even though she never checked his respiration rate.

Continuity mistake: When Johnny's on the phone with Uncle Ernie about the new color TV, in the wide shot Johnny writes down the address of the warehouse, and puts the pen back in his shirt pocket. Then Johnny thanks Uncle Ernie, and when he hangs up the phone, in the next closeup the pen is back in Johnny's hand.

Visible crew/equipment: When the man who was unconscious for five minutes is wheeled into the ER, Morton has him taken to treatment 2, and when Carol is taking his blood pressure, the actor's tape mark is visible at her feet, under the gurney.

Visible crew/equipment: After Roy climbs down the manhole, he leans to the right (the second time), and when he points the flashlight down the tunnel on the right, the moving shadow of camera equipment is visible on the wall. We know it's not Roy's shadow because when he leans back to the left, that shadow is still moving on the tunnel wall.

Breakdown - S6-E15

Charlie: I think you guys are playing games with me, and I don't like it.
Roy: Now, wait a minute. We're not playing games. We don't play games with the equipment...
Captain Stanley: Wait, hold on. C'mon everybody, look we're all on the same side here, aren't we?
Charlie: I wonder.
Captain Stanley: Charlie, why can't we put the squad in the shop and have us a reserve vehicle here?
Charlie: No, no, Hank. Not until I'm 100% sure that I can't fix it. If there's anything wrong with it. This coffee stinks. [Leaves the room.]
Captain Stanley: You guys playing some kind of joke on him?
John: We didn't make the coffee!
Captain Stanley: Not the coffee, you twit, the squad.
Roy: Cap, there's something wrong with that squad out there.
Captain Stanley: [sigh.] All right, if you say so... I made the coffee.
