Just before he says, "What I saw that day," at 30:55, you see a section of a tree explode, but when the debris (i.e. the splinters of wood and snow) clears you see that the "blown up" section of the tree is unharmed. Suggested correction: The cord doesn't have to be fully removed for it to work so showing it like that is not a mistake. The grenade will smoke quite a bit if the primer is ignited so even if the cord isn't fully removed they'll know quickly enough the pull was hard enough to ignite it.

Currahee - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: In the bootcamp scene where Captain Sobel is yelling at Private Christenson for drinking from his canteen, you see a machine gun resting on Christenson's right shoulder. When the camera angle changes to behind Christenson, the machine gun has suddenly moved onto his other shoulder. This happens quite a few times in this particular scene.

Trivia: 40 members of the cast had to go through a ten day bootcamp in which they were called by their roles in the series. Their boot camp instructor, Captain Dale Dye, was also in charge of doing the bootcamp for the main cast of Saving Private Ryan. Dye played the role of Colonel Robert Sink in the series, and a Colonel in the war department in the film. Dale Dye has also starred in, and been a military advisor on many other TV series and films for years, he's an extremely well respected man in the film industry.

Question: How exactly do the M1 Garands work? I noticed that after the clip is emptied a metal type plate comes out the top of the rifle, what is that?

Answer: That actually is the clip. It is loaded into the top of the rifle, and is ejected with the last round. See http://www.wwiitech.net/main/usa/weapons/m1/.
