Continuity mistake: The two cucumber slices that Jesper puts in the palm of the Drill Sergeant change position between shots - in particular, in the close-up with Jesper walking away and putting the teacup in his hand as well, the two slices are side by side, while they are instead one on top of the other before and after. (00:02:25)
Plot hole: So when he travels through time whatever he has on him or with him or whatever he's holding goes back in time with him just like his dog or the wood. Now he's sitting on the rock drinking a beer and his friend is talking to him and all that's heard and seen is his beer bottle breaking on the rock when he disappears through time. Makes no sense for it to fall from his hand and break if he's in possession of it. The beer should've gone with him. (01:26:30 - 01:27:30)
Factual error: In 1940 3 of Alf White's men are arrested. As they are taken out of the pub they were in Alf and his son stand in the doorway. To their left (viewer's right) are posters for Floyd Patterson (who would have been aged 4 or 5 at the time) and the Platters (formed in 1952) and Lonnie Donegan (started performing 1949). (00:20:03)
Other mistake: Jesse does not talk because of his traumatic childhood (which includes being kidnapped at a young age by Mr. Charlie), so it doesn't make much sense for him to be the narrator.
Other mistake: Aerial views of Yonder gave the impression that a basic grid pattern was used - parallel horizontal and parallel vertical lines that form right angles; yards were of equal area, either a square or rectangular lot. [However, some of the views from the couple's car as they were trying to find the exit showed some slightly curved roads that didn't fit the grid.] Following the sun as a way out, the couple was jumping over fence after fence - but they could've simply walked along perpendicular roads.
Suggested correction: But they tried getting out using the road by car, and they felt that the roads were causing them to go into a loop. So instead they take a route they know for sure is straight. Btw, Yonder isn't real so the way the roads bend and how the grids are made up is purely an optical illusion.
Walking (not driving) along the perpendicular fences would be the same difference only easier and less exerting. If/when they encountered a fence that looked different, that's when they could jump over it to see if it made a difference. How could they "know for sure" that the fences they were jumping over took them in a straight line? Also, they realised the clouds weren't real, so following something in the sky (the sun) was not necessarily a good idea. [This will be my only response here.].
Character mistake: Right at the beginning of the movie, introductory technobabble. "In this canister, there's a solution of protons. The canister is attached to a rotor circuit that generates the protons to the speed of light." I believe the science genius and creator of time travel mixed up the words "generate" and "accelerate" here. (00:00:50)
Continuity mistake: When Gatsby and Chan are talking in the taxi, her hair appears to be tucked behind her ear when the camera is on her left but it isn't when the camera is on the right. Every time the camera changes, the difference in her hair can be seen. (00:33:51)
Plot hole: Dr. Seager told Beth that "It [Z] was all in her head" and only she could stop it. How, then, did her son Josh have the same "imaginary friend Z"? Moreover, if Beth had Z as a friend when she was eight years old, why didn't she remember him or have her memory jogged when Josh first told her about his friend Z? Also, if Beth told Z that they would be together forever (get married and have a lot of kids), why would Z need to go through Josh to get to her?
Continuity mistake: Throughout the movie in several scenes the living room has 2 couches even up until the Parks are getting ready to leave for their camping trip, 1 big one and one small. The very next scene when the Kims are getting drunk, the small couch has disappeared. This must be to make room for the Kims to slide and crawl out from under the table. The strange thing is when the Parks come back home, they don't notice that one of their couches is missing. It remains missing until the end.
Continuity mistake: At the skate park (which is supposed to be Thursday after school), Max is wearing the clothes he wore on Wednesday and Friday - not the clothes he wore in school on Thursday.
Continuity mistake: When Ash and friends are entering the wharf, there are two people that change between shot. There is also a person who goes from having his right hand in his lap to having it scratching his head. (00:23:06)
Factual error: Kate would have been 12 years old when her family left their homeland. But as an adult, when he speaks what should be her native language (she would have been speaking it with her family since she could talk, and gone to school in for 6+ years by then), she has a thick English accent, even though it should still be fluent and accent-free.
Factual error: She fires the entire magazine of a Glock into the alligator's mouth. When it is empty, rather than the slide locking back and the trigger freezing, there is an audible click every time she pulls the trigger. This could not happen.
Character mistake: Queen is an attorney and should know how to conduct herself as a passenger in a car pulled over by police, yet she fails to behave in an acceptable way. Even though certain things may be permissible under certain circumstances, a lawyer should know exceptions and extenuating circumstances, but she apparently does not. She did not have the right to interfere with a police officer and "demand to know" or get out her cell phone to record if she was told to keep her hands where he could see them. (00:10:25)
Continuity mistake: After being buried alive, Wake returns to attack Howard with a pick. There isn't a speck of dirt on him.
Continuity mistake: The Vizier has figured out Aladdin is the prince. Meanwhile, "Ali" is walking with the Sultana; in the whole sequence he has the light of the sun (or moon, hard to tell) on him, or not, depending on the angle. (00:42:40)
Continuity mistake: In Central Park before meeting the toaster client, Peter Sarsgaard in the close-up has 2 tuning forks in his right hand and one in the left, but in the wider shot he has two in his left and one in his right as he picks up the mallet. (00:07:10)
Continuity mistake: Ellen and Joe just got out of the motel room and begin walking towards the marina. Left of frame, a young couple (she has a cap and denim, he has a full carrot top and a bright red plaid shirt, can't miss them) walking up some stairs on the left, going in the same direction as they do, different path. At the next cut, they are walking down the same boardwalk as Ellen and Joe and in the opposite direction. (00:04:30)
Continuity mistake: After fifteen years, Bethany and Clara meet in unlikely circumstances, They are having a drink together on the porch; throughout the whole scene Clara's glass appears and disappears randomly, sometimes literally full to the brim. (00:02:15)
Continuity mistake: His pickup truck windows are down during the car chase but once the pickup submerges in water the windows are miraculously up, giving him a chance to escape. (01:21:30 - 01:29:00)
